Bush to Give Sept. 11 Panel Full Access

By TERENCE HUNT, AP

WASHINGTON (March 9) - President Bush will answer privately all questions raised by a federal commission investigating the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the White House said Tuesday, softening its insistence that Bush's testimony be limited to an hour.

''Nobody's watching the clock,'' White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.

Still, he said an hour was ''a reasonable period of time to set aside for a sitting president of the United States.'' The White House and the commission are working on a date for the meeting with Bush. The commission urged Bush to meet with all of its members, not just the chairman and vice chairman.

The shift came after presumed Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry accused Bush of stonewalling investigations of the terrorist attacks and U.S. intelligence failures.

---snip---

It was the administration's latest change of heart about the commission. Bush originally had opposed the panel's creation. Then he had opposed its request for a two-month extension of its work but eventually relented. Bush is intent on protecting his standing with Americans on the war on terror, which in polls is his best issue with voters.

1. Now that they have had enough time

to tap the offices of the people who will be doing the questioning and determine the correct non-answer they can proceed.

2. I an willing to bet this goes back to his father.
Bush runs every thing by polls, I think, also his father really got it in his term for playing golf as men died. And it was played up. Now this looks the same. And he does seem very lazy with his endless vacations.

The single most important event since WWII as the repubs like to remind us and all bunker boy can spare is 1 hour.

Fuck off you cowardly little piece of shit.

7. According to all the Rethug pundits...........
we have a decisive pResident who DOESN'T make decisions by watching polls. Yeah, and unicorns are gonna fly out of my butt any second now. This cretin has more flip-flops than tourists in Key West.
Why, oh why, can't more than %50 of the populace see through this trained monkey in a suit?
He has unlimited time to 'clear brush' from his Texas pig farm, but for the most heinous crime ever comitted on American soil he can barely scrape up enough time to answer more than afew questions.
Every day I think it's not possible for me to loathe this moron more than yesterday, and each day I'm proven wrong.

8. the headlines are becoming annoying
this one touts Bush as if he is being ever so cooperative by "giving" the panel full access. Ain't Mr. Murgatroyd wunnerful? Nevermind that they had to pull teeth, threaten, make a stink in order to divest George the avoider, of his self appointed power to control the panel according to little Georgies self protective rules.

10. I love how they
spin it as if junior is actually wanting to cooperate. If only Pravda would ask "what are they afraid of. what are they hiding?", they certainly wouldn't hesitate if 9/11 happened on a Democrats watch.

11. everyone, please add your voice
It seems that we have found our collective voices and are having an impact. Please take a few minutes today and add your input to this very important action.

Here is my letter which I will continue to fax out next week:
Dear Honorable ..............:

I have been following the Independent 9-11 Commission with increasing interest. Many citizens have become aware that 9-11 is NOT a partisan political issue. Growing numbers of American citizens are realizing that the overriding concern of honest government is a fundamental matter which affects ALL Americans.

The way that President Bush has stonewalled the 9-11 investigation has been very suspicious. Instead of cooperating with this bi-partisan commission, there appears a continual obfuscation from key members of the administration.

President Bush has a duty to the American people to testify to ALL commission members and give a complete accounting of facts that he has about September 11th. His offer to appear for ONE hour is a blatant insult and slap in the face to every citizen of this country and makes a mockery of our democracy.

I urge you to honor your oath to the American people and take actions to call those who were in charge at the time surrounding 9-11 to testify under OATH to the FULL Commission. These people would obviously include President Bush, Vice-President Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfield, Gen. Richard Myers etc. It is also imperative that the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 9th be given to the FULL Commission as evidence.

Decency also demands that President Bush be sworn in to answer the 9-11 Family Steering Committee legitimate twenty three questions.

If this Independent 9-11 Commission is to have even a shred of credibility in the future, the people in charge of the failed security of 9-11 must be called to legally testify. Anything less from your position clearly shows a complicit weakness and looks extremely suspect to ANY Americans who are paying a modicum of attention.

Thank you for your immediate attention in this matter.

Sincerely,
------------------------------

12. Hey, don't you understand?
Bu$h still hasn't raised enough money to get reelected dog catcher, so I'm sure he'll need to be excused early so he can make it to another fund raiser on time. Plus he might have to give up his afternoon nap which would be a major sacrifice on his part and of course he'd much rather spend hours at a rodeo than to sit around and be asked stupid questions which he won't answer directly anyway.

I mean come on folks, he's the pResident, he's got mo' impotent things to do.

13.  "Steady leadership in times of change"?
''Nobody's watching the clock,'' White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.

Still, he said an hour was ''a reasonable period of time to set aside for a sitting president of the United States.''

I sincerely hope that current polls are a true reflection of Americans growing disgust with the failed leadership of this INCOMPETENT and ARROGANT ass.
