Obama Team Continues Effort to Isolate Fox News (by Fox News)
Source: FOXNews.com

Senior Obama administration officials took to the airwaves Sunday to accuse Fox News of pushing a particular point of view, one week after the administration fired its initial salvo to try to isolate the news network by accusing it of being a GOP mouthpiece.

"A lot of their news programming, it's really not news. It's pushing a point of view," senior adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week."

"The way we -- the president looks at it and we look at it, is, it is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective," White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel added on CNN's "State of the Union."

The open assault on Fox News began last weekend when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn accused the network of being a "wing of the Republican Party."

30. Fox and its effect on America...
has been undeniably toxic. That is not underestimating how stupid some of my countrymen are. They were ripe for pick'n!

19. For years now, Democrats have pretended not to notice what they are.
That hasn't worked. They have a strong following of dittoheads. They routinely troll with relative impunity for idiots who buy their snake oil. It's smart to try something else now.

32. I also agree...
It is the decency in Liberal psyche wanting something to not-be-so that Fox took a hold. No liberal should have ever given that GOP mouthpiece a shred of legitimacy.

4. Bread and circuses! Why not go after the real enemey: the banksters!
I know there is a legitimate reason to hate Faux. But guess what? You can turn them off and that's what the white house should do. Instead they should talk about how banksters buy ten thousand dollar suits while the tax payers who support them are often dressed in rags.

Enough of the BS! Go after the banksters and put them in jail now.

13. It depends on what "news" means......
...if you are a right-wing idiot, news amounts to "What you're being told", as opposed to what is actually happening.

16. And in the "You Can't Have it Both Ways" Dept.
the story following this one on the Fox site is about the teabaggers (now called the "tea party") protesting the msm outlets. They cite protests at all of them except...you guessed it. So if they're unbiased msm that's being unfairly ignored by the WH and they don't control the teabaggers, why aren't the teabaggers protesting them? Because everyone just plain recdognizes how fair and balanced they are except the administration? I don't think so.

21. Look, it was ONE thing for Fox News to be an opinion outlet for the Right Wing ...
... for all these years, but now, with Glenn Beck, the Teabaggers and the 9/12 event, they've shifted to activism and active politicking. Why Fox hasn't caught more crap for their involvement in the promotion of their 9/12 events is beyond me.

27. Sounds like diversionary tactics the RW used..
Right Wing: "Those evil Gays!!" as the economy tanked and the bullshit war drags on..

Obama Admin: "That evil Fox News!" as the economy tanks and the bullshit war drags on..

Methinks they should focus on the real issues of the day instead of driving up Fox ratings...

28. Good for the administration.
They'll need perseverance in this; it will take time to define Fox for almost all Americans as a mendacious conservative propaganda mill. But it will work. In the meantime, if Chris Wallace keeps bitching that he can't get big enough Democrats to come on Fox News Sunday, let Bill Clinton volunteer. I bet that'll shut Wallace up...

Edited on Mon Oct-19-09 04:21 AM by BluDemocratGirl
lying about Obama during his campaign by running false stories about him, lied saying that John McCain has won ALL THREE of the presidential debates (knowing damn well that Obama smashed McCain on ALL of them), calling him a racist, and NOT showing his addresses on their channel. Now, they can all just STFU and go to hell!

35. According to Murdoch, every time the WH attacks Fox News, its ratings rise again.
Hopefully, that will not be the long term result.
