Ammiano (D-Calif.) to Schwarzenegger: 'Kiss my gay ass'
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown is lambasting what he calls "highly inappropriate" behavior by San Francisco Democrats Wednesday who greeted Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a hostile reception during a surprise drop-in at a San Francisco Democratic Party fund-raiser.

But outspoken State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco, who shouted "You lie!" to Schwarzenneger during the event at the Fairmont Hotel -- and didn't deny reports he walked out with a quip of "kiss my gay ass" -- said the GOP governor's "cheap publicity stunt" earned a very appropriate show of political theater, San Francisco-style.

Schwarzenegger, in a statement this morning, aimed to laugh it all off, saying of his SF Democratic reception that "compared to the reaction I got in Hyannis Port when I told the Kennedys I was marrying Maria, it was fantastic."

20. He was invited by the hosts of the fundraiser.
It helps to read the story. Willie Brown said Arnold was invited.

30. It was a surprise to most of the guests
So in that sense it was a "surprise drop-in". But I believe Brown when he says he was invited and Brown would be in a position to know.

35. I believe Willie Brown probably did the inviting
I also believe that Willie Brown would say anything to try to make Ammiano (his longtime nemesis) look bad.

Willie Brown did many great things for SF and California, but at the very same time he did those things, he has made friendships and deals with the lowest of the low in California. And to a fault, he will defend indefensible politicians, USUALLY, if their name is not Tom Ammiano.

I admit that I didn't read the whole article, but from my snippet, can you tell why I thought Ah-nuld wasn't invited?

14. Another delicious snippet ---
"Before (Schwarzenegger) showed up, people were talking about how unfortunate it was the Governor...was so missing in action on issues so important to San Francisco," Ammiano told us this morning. "Then I noticed the dye job out of the corner of my eye.''

Ouch.

Ammiano: "This isn't a chamber where someone suffers through. This is our house -- and it's like someone came in and took a big dump. He showed up; it was rude, he got up there and it felt to us that he was trivializing all the issues we care about. You have a few options, and along with the labor people, we walked out."

39. It's funny Kestrel, but when Maria talked about meeting Ahnold, it rather touched me...
She said that when they first met, the Kennedy clan was so devastated by losses ... and Arnold made her laugh. That statement alone made tears come to my eyes. It gave me an insight into a relationship that was otherwise a mystery.

As to the rest of the marriage, well, Catholics typically don't divorce. It's up to her about how she makes wife-and-motherhood work in relation to Arnold Schwartzenegger.

I don't care if Arnie was invited -- this was a Democratic fundraiser -- he stepped into the lion's den and got what he deserved. Arnie has fucked over CA royally in sooo many ways I've stopped counting. He's lucky it was just quips lobbed his way.

28. Well I just read the article
and even if he was invited, why waste a chance to insult him publicly. He has done that often enough to the democrats. Also I think it sounded quite funny, and the gropinator did not sound very upset, but Willy Brown was acting like a horse's arse, as usual. He thinks he is still relevant.

33. Willie Brown...
...the man who swore if that Issa-created, Ahmanson-funded circus of a recall in 2003 resulted in a Governor Schwarzenegger, he would personally start a new recall the next day. Big talker, he.

As for Schwarzenegger, if he needs his little Ah-nold stroked in order to make him a sign a bill he should anyway (which he has until Sunday night to sign, btw), then he's just living down to expectations, as always.

K&R for our Tom.
