Dole: Health care reform coming late this year or next; "you lost" when Clinton-era reform failed
Source: Kansas City Star

Former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole says "there will be a signing ceremony" for a health care reform bill either late this year or early next.

But the former presidential candidate says he isn't sure what the bill will say.

Dole, 86, spoke with reporters after an hour-long speech at a health care reform summit sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.

He told the group that he and former Sens. Tom Daschle, Howard Baker, and George Mitchell will issue a statement later today urging Congress to enact health care reform as soon as possible.

we'll all be 'on call' but granny won't have to serve unless things get really bad.

3. here's another idea:
healthcare is a basic human right, and any government which can afford to provide healthcare to its citizens and does not is quite simply evil. This is a basic human rights issue - nothing any more complicated than that.

4. it seems a number of republicans sing a different tune once they retire and no longer take bribes...
i can't recall the last time a democrat stood up for anything left of center and then said it was a mistake after they had retired.

7. Amazing??? Held under the auspices of Blue Cross--and Dole stated opposition to a public option.
In other words, Dole, Daschle, Bake and MItchell support making everyone buy private insurance--a huge payday for the medical insurance companies--and get put in jail if they choose to waste their money on food and rent or tuition instead of buying health insurance.

What the hell is amazing about Dole, Daschle, Baker and Mitchell wanting a payday for the insurance companies?

Wonder what their "consulting" fee was.

Pimps.
