Sandra Day O'Connor says rulings are being 'dismantled'
Source: USA Today

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Retired Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor says she regrets that some of her decisions "are being dismantled" by the current Supreme Court.

O'Connor, who generally has avoided questions on the substance of the court under Chief Justice John Roberts, made the observation during a wide-ranging and unusually candid panel discussion over the weekend.

Asked how she felt about the fact that the current court had undone some of her rulings, the nation's first woman justice responded, "What would you feel? I'd be a little bit disappointed. If you think you've been helpful, and then it's dismantled, you think, 'Oh, dear.' But life goes on. It's not always positive."

Thanx for Bush v Gore Sandy. Remember when you wrote that the court's decision on Bush v Gore
could not be used as precedent for any previous case law or future cases either ..... you knew you were
breaking the law and fucking the American people to help the republican party and W bush get what
really wasn't his rightfully.

4. But Roberts and Alito, both of whom are supposedly very religious, said under oath in Congress that
they would respect precedent. O'Connor was not on the Court all that long ago. So, overturning cases in which she participated would not be respecting precedent very much, would it?

Then again, those religious men would not have lied, would they, especially under oath? And lawyers would not lie under oath, would they, especially lawyers worthy of sitting on the SCOTUS?

Oh, I'm so confused.

:sarcasm:

10. She's healthy now, she could have stayed on the court until Bush's time was up
and someone more reasonable would pick her replacement. She knew what she was doing when she retired during Bush's tenure, she knew what kind of judges he would pick. So she has no right to complain about it now.

She can stuff a pony up it, as far as I'm concerned.

and the other right-wingers on the court. Specifically, Thomas basically overruled her Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins decision which made it easier to prove discrimination in "mixed motive" cases. That was the Gross decision a few months ago- I understand Congress is looking at overruling Gross by statute.

17. Stick it where the sun don't shine, Sandy baby
I am not interested in the mewlings of the one of the chief architects of the destruction of the Constitution. You helped put that miscarriage of a president into office, and let him appoint your successor. If your vicious, rabid dog has slipped its leash and bitten you on the tender nether regions, I can only say that you invited this misfortune on yourself. Welcome to the slime pit you to which you consigned 300 million other people, most of whom don't have the wherewithal you do to withstand the buffets of your reckless decisions.

19. If you hadn't appointed Bu*h president, the SCOTUS would not be legislating from the Bench
at this very moment.

"Oh, dear" just ain't gonna cut it. For starters, how about admitting the truth about your appointment of Bu*h to the presidency, and getting down on your knees and begging the forgiveness of the American people for destroying our country?

20. Oh Sandra, you will be remembered as one of the few who caused
America's downfall. History will hate those that fucked us over in 2000 - the end result? We see it in 2 unending wars, a great depression, value of the dollar disappearing and the FED counterfeiting as much money as they can.

Sandy, you fucked up bad. See ya in hell.

29. Sandy, Sandy. That's a direct result of you rigging the election for your boy Bush.
History will mark you with an asterix for Bush v. Gore. What a shame you squandered your legacy as "First Woman Supreme Ct. Justice" when you and your four cohorts decided to wipe your asses with the Constitution in December of 2000.

Think how different things might be had you not helped appoint Bush to the Presidency. Now nothing you do makes any difference, because people are always going to remember you for Bush v. Gore, and any good you might have done is lost to you forever.

YOU made it possible for the worst group of criminals in Amerian History to finish reshaping our National Mentality to Nazi-like insanity.

YOU opened the door for authoritarian monstres in The Bushpublikan Party to rule and now they rule even when they are badly out of power.

I don't usually wish people ill, but Sandy, dear, may your death and future in HELL be everything you deserve for plying a major role in the snuffing out of Liberty here and around the world.
