Osama is in Pakistan, claims US envoy
Source: The Nation PK

US Deputy Ambassador to Pakistan, Gerald Festine on Thursday claimed that al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden is alive and exists in Pakistan, report said. Talking to newsmen here, he also claimed that Taliban’s command system existed in Quetta, demanding that government of Pakistan should take stern action against the terrorists within its territory. Festine admitted that US has acquired achievements against al Qaeda with the strategic support of Pakistan’s security forces, however, he feared that some of the al Qaida leaders, including Osama, could be underground in tribal region of Pakistan. He denied the reports about mysterious activities by US security companies in Pakistan. “Blackwater or no other security firm of US is functioning in Pakistan.”

3. The Osama is dead meme
is both boring and an obvious attempt by the Reich Wingtards to discredit the President and his foreign policy.

8. This has been debunked.
Bhutto was clearly talking about Daniel Pearl and mixed his name up with Bin Laden.

2. If this is true and
we have concrete evidence of Bin Laden in Pakistan, we must send troops in to arrest/kill him and his associates. He may be planning more terrorist attacks within our borders or in Europe. Sending private mercs in would be a bad idea and a PR nightmare. Send 10 to 20 thousand troops into the area where Osama is hiding and get him.

16. Pakistan is a big place.
If there was concrete evidence of his specific locale, you think they'd tell us? Oh yeah, 10-20,000 troops scouring all of Pakistan would be a big help!! What are you, on drugs? Even if the Pakistanis were to allow it, where would you suggest we start looking? Sending 10-20, 000 troops in would be a "bad idea and a PR nightmare"!! I want some of what you're smoking!!

15. And he's hiding out with Elvis!!
Pakistan is a big place. Unless they know exactly where he is and target him, its all a big nothing. He could be driving a cab in NYC for all we know. If he shaved his beard and had a little plastic surgery well, who'd know?

18. great find ..
if you continue searching for him but not find him, US will triple their non-military aid from $1.5 bn/year to $4.5 bn (which will finally be routed to the Pak military to buy equipment against India rather than dealing with terrorism) and increase military aid from $3 bn a year to $15 bn a year (without asking for audit or any such measure to seek the final usage of the money, lest the sensitive military leaders run to the press!)

if you find him, we will fulfill our promise of paying the $25 million reward ...

geez., the pak military leaders must be having stomachaches thinking of the stupidity of the US political system

19. and? -- what's this about really?
apparently the most dangerous elements of al queda -- the ones who could do serious damage -- where active recruiting is going on -- is in europe.

and IF osama is still alive -- why not say WHERE he is?
