Nuclear watchdog denies Blair's claim of 'separate intelligence'
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/story.jsp?story=422941

Fresh doubts were raised yesterday about Britain's "separate intelligence" which, Tony Blair claimed, proved Iraq was seeking to acquire uranium from Africa.

Senior British officials told the Foreign Affairs Select Committee a fortnight ago that the intelligence had been passed to the International Atomic Energy Agency investigating Saddam Hussein's alleged plans to acquire nuclear weapons.

But yesterday it was revealed that the IAEA has no record of receiving "separate information". The only intelligence it had received came from the United States and contained documents that proved to be forged.

2. Poor Blair/Bush/et.al
Everytime they try to cover one lie with another one, they are outted. Me thinks the IAEA is just sick of this bunch and isn't going to let them get away with anything.

3. Iraq would have no reason to import uranium
The energy source needed to enrich uranium would easily be spotted by American spy satellites -- underground, above ground, wherever. So says the IAEA.

US withheld uranium intelligence from IAEA
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=4031&mesg_id=4031&page=

The US government withheld from United Nations weapons inspectors evidence to back its claim that the Iraqi government had attempted to obtain uranium from Africa, despite repeated pledges to co-operate fully with the inspectors.

In a letter released yesterday, the International Atomic Energy Agency said it was forced to wait six weeks for the evidence - from December 2002 to early February 2003 - at a critical time, when it was investigating US charges that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear programme. During that period, the US several times repeated the allegations, most notably in President George W. Bush's January State of the Union address.

The letter, which was released by Democratic congressman Henry Waxman, came as political pressure grew on the administration over charges that it distorted intelligence to build its case for war on Iraq.

5. Tony, you are in a hole, stop digging!
I seriously think Tony should consider how each lie he tells now will come back to haunt him.

7. they googled to find the forgery? LOL!
my favorite part:
"It did not take long to uncover the forged documentation. We did a Google search and discovered that someone named as a minister in the Niger government has stopped being so years ago. A lot of it was pretty crude - a cut and paste job."

ROTFLMAO!
