Hey, I'm a Presbyterian but even I can't tolerate these punks painting Synagogues with this hate.

How do we stop it?

is to treat the walls with a graffiti-proof solution. It might be offensive, but to freak out over this is a bit much. Could be done by a mischievous 14 year-old jewish kid for all we know.

"to freak out over this is a bit much." That's an easy thing to say if you aren't the person or member of the group that has to deal with it. Graffiti and swastikas are a common vandalism when it comes to anti-semitism, they're almost never done by a "mischievous Jewish kid." If this had been done on a Catholic or Protestant church, you better believe there'd be a lot more outcry and outrage.

BTW, I'm not Jewish, I'm a Christian (albeit, a liberal/progressive one).

If you've got forensic skills in deciphering the motivation and profile of a person who writes graffiti, then tell me who did it. All this article tells me is that Mel Gibson is the prime suspect.

God knows there are more than enough Texans in Colorado, and they aren't always welcome! (not the cool Texans, the republican ones. And before the cool-ass Texans at DU speak their piece: I grew up in San Antonio and actually survived attending Texas A&M, that bastion of conservative freakiness.)

I know when my husband & I went to visit CO in August (Ouray) we actually passed a house on the highway between Ouray and Ridgway that was flying a confederate flag in its front yard!

Sure, they have the right to do that: but THAT is not representative of the tolerant, laid-back, live-and-let-live Colorado that I know and love! And as a woman of color, it makes my radar go into overdrive.

DENVER (AP) - About 300 people of different faiths turned out to clean up a synagogue vandalized with swastikas and Nazi symbols on the eve of the Jewish holiday Purim.

So many people showed up Sunday at BMH-BJ Congregation, where vandalism had been discovered the day before, that people had to stand in line for a turn with a brush and a can of paint thinner.

"This is a place for everyone," said Doug Mix, who is not a member of the congregation. "That is why everyone is here. There are Christians, Jews, Muslims and people who are not religious. We all came out here because America is still America, and we don't tolerate this."

A custodian for the synagogue discovered about 10 markings when he arrived Saturday morning. Purim was celebrated Saturday night and Sunday. Police had not made any arrests by Monday.
