U-S-backed exile leader says C-I-A questioned Iraqi defectors' credibility
http://www.kplctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1693248

Washington-AP -- The man who'd led many Iraqi defectors to the C-I-A says he's being unfairly attacked for the failure to find banned weapons in Iraq.

The Bush administration largely used information from the defectors to build a case for invading Iraq, even though the C-I-A continually questioned their credibility.

Now Ahmad Chalabi (AHK'-mahd SHAH'-lah-bee), a member of the Iraqi Governing Council, says he wants to testify in an open session of the Senate Intelligence Committee to make his case.

In an interview on tomorrow's "60 Minutes" on C-B-S, Chalabi blames the C-I-A for the lack of weapons so far, saying, "Intelligence people who are supposed to do a better job for their country and their government did not do such a good job."

Not much else here.

3. Go for it.
You know how some cocky, guilty defendents just HAVE to get before the jury because they know they will convince them of side of the story. Chalabi reminds me of this type. His spin, that it is the cia's incompetency - not the bad intel info, that is the problem and why WMDs haven't been found, fits my interpretation. These are the folks who believe their story and their ability to convince others that when questioned their responses become more and more outlandish and unbelievable.

Watch pressure to shut him up and prevent him from going before ANY panel be applied. Then watch his big ego, which is driving this story, reemerge ... and who knows. I think it would be highly interesting to see him testify to 'convince us all of his innocence' - it is in that type of hyperbolic convincing that it would get interesting.

4. Hey George Tenant This Criminal Blames You
I bet the CIA won't like hearing from this POS he now blames them for the "lack" of WMD's. After all they dumped him as a source 10 years ago saying he fed them nothing but garbage.

"Don't blame me I'm just the messenger" Judith Miller on her numerous NYT's columns featuring a boat load of Chalabi lies.
