Gays to march here, demand marriage licenses

Group files suit against same-sex marriage in Oregon
Some Seattle-area gay and lesbian couples are hoping to force King County's hand on the issue of same-sex marriage.

Borrowing a page from couples who have descended on government buildings in New York and Chicago, gays here plan to march to the King County Administration Building on Monday morning and demand marriage licenses.

If turned away, they say they will go back the next day and the next ... the $54 cost of the license in hand.

"We've been watching this wave roll across the country, first in Massachusetts to San Francisco to Portland," said Brian Peters, a Capitol Hill resident and a march organizer.
