(Chris) Christie ticketed in '05
Source: MSNBC

New Jersey Republican gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie was ticketed in 2005 for speeding, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance. He was allowed to drive the car home, a New Jersey radio station reported yesterday.

Christie pleaded guilty to some charges and paid a large fine. The speeding fine was reduced and the unregistered vehicle charge was dismissed. A Christie spokeswoman told the radio station that "the fact that Christie was U.S. Attorney did come up."

Also in the car were his wife, children and First Assistant U.S. Attorney Michele Brown, who resigned from her post on Tuesday "after Christie's $46,000 loan to her became a campaign issue."

1. Something tells me that prick is going down
I'll be happy to see the ass end of him. Just another sleazy republicon promising to bring republicon values to their elected office. As though we can afford any more of those good ol' fashioned values.

5. The Google ads are telling:
Ah, Republican scandal!

If they aren't having Biblically incorrect sex, they're menacing the citizenry on the roads.

6. I will try to be fair here:
Traffic law enforcement in this country is so absolutely revenue-driven and crooked that I have to take this with a grain of salt. I just have no faith whatsoever anymore in that system, and I can't hold something like this against anyone, even a Repugnican candidate because I simply can't trust the word of a traffic cop or traffic court.

I know, I know. Defending a Repugnican. flame away, I can take it.

7. A traffic ticket is one thing. Driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle
is something else.

8. Sure it is, but that's irrelevant.
I'll put it to you another way: Some revenue collection agent (aka, a traffic cop) with a quota to fill said that the car wasn't registered, and said that it wasn't insured. That in no way shape or form means that it actually WASN'T registered or insured - just that some cop said that it wasn't. In other words, it's some traffic cop's word against his, and you know what? I've personally witnessed enough police perjury (they even have a name for it: testilying) in my time that if a cop were to say that the sun was somewhat likely to rise in teh East tomorrow, I would require independent proof before believing him. Really - they have no credibility with me whatsoever.
