Schwarzenegger to become executive editor of two health magazines
SAN FRANCISCO - As if being the governor of California doesn't keep him busy enough, Arnold Schwarzenegger is about to take on yet another new job: magazine editor.

Schwarzenegger, the former action figure and champion bodybuilder, has inked a deal to become executive editor of Muscle and Fitness and Flex Magazines, Schwarzenegger spokesman Rob Stutzman confirmed. Both are owned by American Media, Inc., which also publishes The National Enquirer, Star and other celebrity tabloids.

Schwarzenegger, who will announce the deal Saturday at the Arnold Fitness Weekend in Columbus, Ohio - an annual sports and exercise fest that bears his name - he will not take any additional responsibilities at either magazine.

He has written a column for Muscle and Fitness for 10 years and agreed to top the masthead of the two publications in order to promote physical fitness and healthy eating.

4. Governor is only a part-time job for Arnie.
After all, he has other people telling him what to do. Just like Reagan.

5. Reminds me of Ventura (sorry to fans)...
What is it with these musclebound entertainers-turned-governors...didn't they look at the pay package BEFORE they signed on.

6. He'll need the work after November!
His role as governor is worse than that of film star, so it's best he line up some other kind of work. Of course an editor does need some sort of mastery of the English language....

11. Considering former Governor Pete Wilson, you know the guy
who left a big mess for Gray Davis, is doing the actual governing and the movie offers aren't pouring in, Governor Schwinnenpecker probably has time on his hands. :argh:

16. Can't wait to see his excuse when a great script comes up
that he wants to take. Do we really think he will stay away from PAID acting (in the movies - not the kind he is doing now) for three years? Just as it was with Jesse Ventura, it is only a matter of time for Ahnald. How will the spin it - move the sest to Sacramento? "See - we are bringing (temporary) jobs to the state capitol..."

12. "health" magazines?
I wouldn't call either of these bodybuilding magazines "health" magazines. Trust me, those guys that are 280 lbs with 3% bodyfat may look good to you or look bad to you but one thing is for sure - they are not healthy.

15. Perhaps he will explain the proper method of injecting Elephant Steroids
into your leg muscles as depicted (more or less) in "Pumping Iron".

Good info for today's young athletes.
