Iran 'cannot confirm' US arrests

Iran's Foreign Ministry says it can neither confirm or deny that three Americans have been arrested after crossing the border from Iraq.

On Tuesday, an official in the western border region said the three were being questioned for entering Iran illegally.

But Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said the reports of the arrests were still being investigated.

The Americans' families say they must have strayed over the poorly-marked border while hiking in Iraqi Kurdistan.

2. What were they doing hikin in the mountains of a war zone?
Especially right next to the border of another unstable country.

Doesn't sound particularly smart
