NEW YORK (Reuters) - Computer maker Dell Inc. (DELL.O) on Thursday said founder Michael Dell would relinquish his role as chief executive, but remain chairman, becoming the latest to split the two top roles as companies become more diligent about governance.

4. that's what I was hoping
I detest Dell... my work laptop is a piece of crap and the unintelligible support for it is the icing on the cake.

5. I've purchased 3 Dell desktops over the years
One of them had a bad motherboard. They replaced it under warranty. And I didn't have to scream and call them names to have it done. Everyone there has always been courteous and helpful. The two other computers have been fine.

I know Michael Dell contributes to the Repubs. Maybe that's because he's in Texass.
