N. Korea Escalates War of Words, Calls Clinton Vulgar, Unintelligent
Source: Washington Post

PHUKET, Thailand, July 23--The war of words between North Korea and the United States escalated Thursday, with North Korea's Foreign Ministry lashing out at Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in unusually personal terms for "vulgar remarks" that it said demonstrated "she is by no means intelligent."

Clinton, who earlier this week likened North Korea to an unruly child, has rallied international isolation of North Korea at a 27-member regional security forum here. She met with her Russian, Chinese, South Korean and Japanese counterparts -- the other key partners in suspended six-nation disarmament talks--and won strong statements of support from many delegations.

On Wednesday night, she even sent a delegation of U.S. officials to meet with diplomats from Burma, which has strained relations with Washington, to press for compliance with a U.N. Security Council barring exports of North Korean arms and missiles. The resolution was passed after North Korea detonated a second nuclear device. On Thursday, Burma announced it would comply.

"There is no place to go for North Korea," Clinton told reporters after reading a nearly seven-minute statement outlining U.S. policy on North Korea. "They have no friends left."

1. Well now, I'm at an impasse
Should we have the US Repugs learn how to politely insult someone from the North Koreans, or should we have the North Koreans learn how to viciously malign someone from the Repugs?

I'm not sure if the North Koreans are making the Repugs look boorish, or if the Repugs make the North Koreans look like neophytes.

2. Well, a big part of the problem is that N. Korea was completely ignored for eight years
by the Bush* administration, along with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Osama bin Laden. Those were seen as "Clinton issues," so were given no attention whatsoever. That worked out real well :eyes:, and now we're facing the consequences. Madeline Albright was making inroads in negotiating with this rogue state, but Bush* refused to participate in unilateral talks, so we've lost whatever ground she made, and then some... :grr:

N. Korea probably has nothing to say about most Republicans, since they aren't familiar with too many. But I do remember hearing in a report on "60 Minutes" that N. Korea referred to George Bush* as a "Nazi..."

As for the Republicans, it's become evident that they're against anything that the Obama administration is for, whether it's in their best interests, or in the best interests of this country... :grr:

> it said demonstrated "she is by no means intelligent."

> Clinton, who earlier this week likened North Korea to an unruly child,

It's just another squabble between the loudmouth in one corner and
the bully in the other.

5. My reply to North Korea
Yum, yum, yum. I think I'll have the duck a l'orange

along with the Caesar salad

and maybe the pecan pie for dessert.

What's that? You'll be having grass porridge and some tree bark? No wonder you don't have any friends.

27. Well, you could send them off by themselves without any supper. Wait... :-(
It's also a very sad situation, considering the desperate plight of the people as well as the brainwashing that they endure. Their education system teaches them that the US is their mortal enemy, wants to wipe them off the face of the earth. In reality, how many Americans ever give this isolated nation a second thought? :-(

7. North Korea in bizarre Hillary Clinton attack
Source: Agence France-Presse

NORTH Korea has hit back at comments by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, describing her in an unusually personal attack as not intelligent and a "funny lady".

A foreign ministry spokesman quoted by the communist state's official news agency accused Clinton of making "a spate of vulgar remarks unbecoming for her position everywhere she went since she was sworn in".

"We cannot but regard Mrs Clinton as a funny lady as she likes to utter such rhetoric, unaware of the elementary etiquette in the international community," the spokesman said.

"Sometimes she looks like a primary schoolgirl and sometimes a pensioner going shopping."..................

She'll be unflappable. She knows how to be professional and who and who not to attack for the sake of professional advancement.

21. This is being a professional ? Who knew
""What we've seen is this constant demand for attention," Clinton said. "And maybe it's the mother in me or the experience that I've had with small children and unruly teenagers and people who are demanding attention -- don't give it to them, they don't deserve it, they are acting out."

Thinking that is fine, saying it publicly makes it really hard for her to be the diplomat who deals with them.

28. Well, you know what David Letterman calls Kim Jong Il's brother... ;)
Seriously, I think that their leaders need to be medicated and the schoolchildren deprogrammed. I saw a "60 Minutes" report on what these kids are taught. They believe that the US is their mortal enemy, bent on their destruction and, after reading "The Diary of Anne Frank," their conclusion was that she was a coward because she hid, rather than confronting her enemy. ;(

10. Verbal abuse is just another weapon in their arsenal.
Seriously, check out KCNA sometime. They don't have a kind word for -anyone-. What I find amusing is that, regardless of their vitriol for Japan in general, they could only host their state mouthpiece's website in Japan.

http://www.korea-dpr.com/

Check out the DPRK souvenirs under "shop".

It's interesting that CafePress helps North Korea get hard currency.

You have to wonder how many DPRK officials it took to come up with this devastatingly effective attack certain to just paralyze the United States.

Idjits.

They should hire some Freepers to elevate their verbal attacks to the lower-mid junior high school level.

And you really don't want to piss the Chinese off. That would be an exceedingly poor idea.

A country like North Korea, which has 35000 American troops stationed just across its border, doesn't need "friends" like the US right now.

Plus, North Korea has said some hilarious things about American leaders who aren't as popular around these parts as Hillary Clinton.

26. Thanks! This is wonderful! Sad, considering the mentality of N. Korea, but very amusing, nonetheless
Calling Hillary Clinton a "funny lady" is nothing compared to the insults that they heaped on Bush*...

In May 2005, North Korea described Bush as "a hooligan bereft of any personality as a human being, to say nothing of stature as president of a country. He is a half-baked man in terms of morality and a philistine whom we can never deal with."
