Disney says opposition to Eisner reaches 43 pct

NEW YORK (Reuters) - More than 40 percent of Walt Disney Co. shareholders withheld support for the re-election of Chief Executive Michael Eisner to the board of directors at its annual meeting Wednesday, according to an early tally of votes, the company said.

1. Is it true
Eisner gave himself two huge pay raises last year(after how many employees were laid off?)I agree, Eisner should have gone out long ago!

3. Gee, times are rough
Isn't he worth about 70 million? There was someone on this board who knows Roy Disney very well & has told some fascinating stories.Can't remember who, but if your out there I wish you'd write a book!

4. Not well, but I'm personally acquainted with him
He was head of Feature animation while I worked there. Great guy, very humble and personable, and would always give each of us a warm greeting if we bumped into one another outside of work. He has his own website now; www.savedisney.com.

Eisner is worth HUNDREDS of millions in stock options. It'll be good riddance, as long as they don't replace him with the Fox programming CEO that is high on the stockholders short list of replacements. My vote is for Steve Jobs; he's their second or third choice. Everyone I know who works for Pixar is really happy there, and it would be great to have that kind of employee respect and professional creativity returned to Disney.
