Kerry Win Sends Czech Village Into Frenzy
PRAGUE (Reuters) - The mayor of the tiny Czech village of Horni Benesov, which takes pride in being the birthplace of John Kerry (news - web sites)'s grandfather, could barely contain his delight when the senator clinched the Democratic nomination.

"Nine of ten, nine of ten," Mayor Josef Klech screamed into the phone when asked by Reuters if he had heard the news of Kerry's decisive coast-to-coast victory in nine of 10 states in Tuesday's primaries.

snip...

Many Americans in Germany, France and Russia are aghast at how Washington slammed its long-standing allies for opposing the Iraq (news - web sites) war and how some back home staged actions like pouring out French wine or renaming french fries "Freedom Fries."

"From the beginning I thought he would win the nomination, and I believe he will become the American president. He seems a very reasonable, very likeable person. We are watching this with quite an interest and excited to see him win," Klech said.

3. I think the rest of the world WILL have an influence this year.
They usually just wait and see, but, this election means more to them than ever before. Seeing the WORST American president and how he effects the rest of the world sure unleashed their passion.

6. I hope you are right. I think it would be a big plus. On the other
hand, I've read Anthony Charles Lynton "Tony" Blair is planning to come over here this summer to help Shrub. I'm hoping against hope the Labour party will wake up before then and toss the the nasty little turd out of Number 10.

7. And why not?
As long as the US feels entitled to rule the rest of the world, then all of the world's citizens should have a say in our elections.

16. But the "true African-American" thing, are you
implying that those who claim to be African American yet weren't born there are "false"?

19. Yeah, of course you did.
Consciously typing "true African American" wasn't meant to imply anything. Typing only "African American" wouldn't have done the job.

Who said anything about race? Just you.

15. Kerry himself speaks several languages
I read recently where he speaks German better than Schroeder speaks English. He also threw in a little Swedish to some Swedes at a meeting. BTW, Clinton also spoke some German, having traveled extensively in Europe while at Oxford. It'll be great to have a President who can speak to world leaders in their own languages.

Shrub can't even speak English, so Kerry will be a boon for the international leaders.

speaks also a perfectly understandable french and so does his wife ! France was in love with JFK1 and his wife and day by day France is falling in love with JFK2 and his family believe me! Never before the primaries received such a media cover here. If he's elected the french will really cheer and if he comes to France he'll be welcomed as a king !! Really too bad he can't be here to celebrate the D-day anniversary instead of the lying chimpanzee (wich didn't even answer the invitation yet ! It's unbelievebly rude !!)....A brave veteran among brave veterans, it would have made a much more serious picture for USA ! I really fear that * will not be welcomed at all by the people and I hope the american people and the veterans will not see an outrage to the USA in that.
