9/11 Panel Rejects White House Limits on Interviews

WASHINGTON, March 2 — The independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks is refusing to accept strict conditions from the White House for interviews with President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney and is renewing its request that Mr. Bush's national security adviser testify in public, commission members said Tuesday.

The members said the commission had also decided to continue to press the national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, to reconsider her refusal to testify at a public hearing. Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney are expected to be asked about how they had reacted to intelligence reports before Sept. 11, 2001, suggesting that Al Qaeda might be planning a large attack. Panel members want to ask Ms. Rice the same questions in public.

I'm delighted to see that someone else shares my thoughts on Condi as a liar. On 2nd thought, in this circumstance, it's me who's sharing your thoughts, isn't it?

I saw her on Meet the Press on it was like someone throwing a switch; now she's telling the truth...OOps...now she's lying...up, lying again...etc.

Frankly, it was kind of fun watching her. One thing is clear, the woman should never submit to a lie detector test.

But while she may be a liar, our Resident deserves nothing less, right?

Bush still has a trump card up his sleeve though: He can deny them the extension they need badly. However, he will have horrible public relations battles if he does decide to do that.

Why won't they cooperate with the investigation of this disaster?

With all the money and time spent on investigating Clinton's real estate deals (not to mention his blowjobs), why are these people doing everything they can to avoid a real investigation of 911?

The idea that Bush* wants to give them an hour is so absurd that anyone can get the message, even if they haven't been following the story all this time.
