Cuba Enemies Advised Honduras Coup
Source: Escambray, Prensa Latina

Havana, Jul 9 (Prensa Latina)

Cuban counterrevolutionaries Carlos Alberto Montaner and Otto Reich, former State assistant secretary of the government of George W. Bush, collaborated as advisers in the coup d'Etat on Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.

A report in Granma newspaper Thursday, taken from Radio Miami station, states that a secret report sent to an embassy from a European country very allied to the US government convincingly reveals in detail those actions.

According to this report, Montaner and Reich have been in permanent contact with the coupists, through direct or phone intermediate agents.

The former used an electronic bridge from Madrid and Miami, while the latter did so from Panama. .....

11. how many folks get their health care or groceries from cuban markets?
For some reason, I don't see a line outside the Cuban embassy here waiting for visas to get into cuba, yet the US embassy is racking in 100's per day. Maybe I am missing something? ABC swears they have the best health care in the hemisphere...

4. CIA - says the Cuban newspaper:
Edited on Thu Jul-09-09 03:21 PM by peacetalksforall
"Carlos Alberto Montaner is an agent from the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). His aim is to practice State terrorism, before in Puerto Rico and now in Spain, and harass the Cuban Revolution.

Otto Reich, a furious enemy of the Cuban Revolution, also works for the CIA, organizing coups d ó Etat and planning of destabilizations of progressive governments, as well as protecting terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles."

The wording implies that they are in the CIA now - currently.

They are saying that Montaner is 'from' the CIA.
They are saying that Reich 'also works for the CIA'.

What to you think? Old info or current?

We know that Posada Carilles (terrorist extraordinaries) is being protected by Republicans, who better than Reich to lead the charge to allow the killer to sit back and make a bunch of money from his paintings - owned by many people in the south Florida area. Still protected after all these years.

Back to Reich -

If he is in the CIA and he is doing this - is he moonlighting? If not moonlighting, does Panetta know? If Panetta knows, does Hillary Clinton (Sec of State) know? If she knows, does Obama know? Has Congress been advised. Inquiring citizens want to know. Where are Montaner and Reich working - can it be denied with or without swearing in that they don't work for the CIA presently and weren't contracted by the CIA and had nothing to do with the Honduras coup d'etat?

Of course, if you are a 'shush!' person or a 'that's posh (rubbish)! person from the CIA or State, we want to know how you do it for this event - just a statement of put down or with an explanation - like 'can't be, Reich passed away two months ago' or the ice caused it.

Former US Official Denies Role in 2002 Venezuela Coup
By Michael Bowman
Washington - 11 March 2009 - http://www.voanews.com/english/archive/2009-03/2009-03-11-voa80.cfm?CFID=258538686&CFTOKEN=98304714&jsessionid=6630ce139f1ae677fdb42c421327b7686131

In heated congressional testimony, a former senior official of the Bush administration has denied U.S. involvement in the failed 2002 coup that briefly toppled Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

.........

The State Department's point man for Latin America at the time, former Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Otto Reich, testified on Capitol Hill Wednesday. Speaking about the future of U.S.-Latin American relations, Reich said President Obama must distinguish between democratic leaders and despots in the hemisphere. Those words prompted a testy response from Democratic Congressman Bill Delahunt of Massachusetts.

"I have full confidence in President Obama," he said. "And I dare say in the case of Venezuela, he would not have made an effort to support tacitly the coup. He would not have attempted to influence ambassadors in other nations in Latin America to confer legitimacy to the Carmona government. When Pedro Carmona swore himself in, his first act was to abolish the National Assembly, to abolish the judiciary."

Reich demanded an opportunity to respond, ..... Reich said, far from endorsing the coup at the time, he issued a stern message to the interim Venezuelan government through the U.S. Embassy in Caracas.

"I instructed Ambassador Charles Shapiro to find Mr. Carmona and tell him that if he swore himself in, violating Chavez's own constitution, that he could not count on the support of the United States government, and we would have to impose economic sanctions ," Reich said.

9. Pure, blatant in-your-face lying by Reich who met with the coup plotters multiple times
in Washington, himself. It's on the record. He knows that we all know.

Hideous, loathesome little two-faced fascist.

10. "we warned that the U.S. government had put a plan in march to topple Venezuela's president Hugo..."
April 15, 2002
A Narco News White Paper
Three Days that Shook the Media
http://www.narconews.com/threedays.html

.............

A report ... in the daily Panamá América newspaper ....
Translated by The Narco News Bulletin:

"Months ago, we warned that the U.S. government had put a plan in march to topple Venezuela's president Hugo Chávez. Working with agents of the CIA and with members of the military group that the Pentagon maintains in Caracas to supervise U.S. arms sales in the region, the strategies from the Potomac joined forces with the opponents of the president. Bankers, businessmen and politicians donated funds to creat the marches and protest that detonated the crisis. Money from the opposition served to influence union elections and the control of the petroleum workers union, the most important in Venezuela…"

Narco News has learned that the CIA headquarters for organizing, distributing said cash, and engineering the attempted coup d'etat, was the office known as the MIL GROUP. That's the name by which the US Military Liason staff in Embassies - "usually a repository for fixers and grafters pitching Department of Defense sponsored weapons sales to third world satrapies," as one source colorfully explained to Narco News - had, according to another well-placed source, greatly increased its staff size in the weeks prior to the attempted coup.

We presume the increase in personnel - or individuals posing as personnel at the MIL GROUP - was not due to a sudden desire by Washington to sell more arms to the Chavez government.

Former National Security Agency officer Wayne Madsen, writing with Richard M. Bennett, reveal that the U.S. participation in the failed coup attempt was not only financial, but military. Reporting from the National Press Building in Washington, they have just blown the roof off of U.S. government denials of involvement in the coup with this Intelligence Report: ............
