10. I'll vote for Kerry-Edwards...
In fact, I'll vote for Anybody But Bush!
I hope the stratagists can come up with the winning combination to beat chimpy.

Edwards will be a great candidate in 8 years (after 8 years of the Kerry Administration).

20. I voted for him tonight and registered Democrat.
I voted for Edwards instead of my home-boy Kerry as a protest for Kerry not taking firm positions on the left. I'm an unapologetic liberal and Kerry waffles too much for me. Kennedy knows how to do it.

I went from Unenrolled to Democrat becasue even though I refuse to "give" my vote to any party or politician, I cannot envision a scenario where I could even pretend to acknowledge that bunch of RW criminals as a viable voting option.

17. I've said all this before, but...
Clark: Secretary of State, Defense or VP (especially VP)

Kucinich: Health and Human Services or Interior

Edwards: Attorney General or VP

Gephardt: Labor or H.U.D. (actually, wasn't he already H.U.D. once?)

Lieberman: Out to pasture

Mosely-Braun I don't know enough about to make a call. In fact I'm not even sure I spelled her name correctly just now.

Sharpton I don't quite see having a role, which is a shame, as I'm a big fan. OOOH - I know! Press Secretary! HELL yeah!

Dean would be great as an organizer, helping campaign for congressional candidates, maybe forming a reformist PAC. There's no WAY Kerry would make him part of the administration.

23. I was thinking about it
I think Howard Dean or Judy Dean would be perfect for Surgeon General. :)

I even have positions for GWB and DC--Dick Cheney can be in charge of an "Undisclosed Location" and GWB can be ambassador to Easter Island, or Antartica. I think we should also put Rummy and Asscroft to work, too: Rummy can be sent to the front line in Iraq, without a Kevlar jacket, and Asscroft can be sent to the Supreme Court to clean out the toilets.

25. Oooooh
Ashcroft cleaning out the Supreme Court toilets - that's a "pubic hair on this can of Coke" joke just waiting to happen.

Good thinking on the Surgeon General idea, not incidentally! I'm actually a little bothered that I didn't think of that...

36. None of that will happen
At most, Kucinich will hold his Congressional seat and Lieberman will remain in the Senate, but that would violate rule #2 of politics: if the guy opposed you at one point, never reward your defeated enemies with any position of power, no matter how minor a threat.

The administration will consist of local friends, minor powers who helped Kerry along, neutral DLC members and unknowns.

15. Edwards for VP
I also hope Edwards gets to VP nod. I like the things Edwards has been talking about. In addition, he might be able to bring some moderate republicans to the polls for democrats. I know that one moderate republican said that many moderate republicans would vote for Edwards if he were a presidential candidate. Maybe they will vote of Kerry if Edwards is his VP

I'm a firm believer in anybody but Bush. I never supported a single candidate. Now that it's settled we've ALL got to rally behind our candidate. Hopefully we can get rid of that god awful GD Primary forum and throw out the damn disruptors.

19. Holding My Nose
I will vote Democratic in 2004 but I will HOLD MY NOSE while voting for John Kerry. I will do so under protest- a gun is basically being held to my head by the media and the lemming-like Kerry crowd.

The guy is simply Bush in a Democrat suit. He doesn't understand anything about what REAL people have to go through or the lives we lead. Just another scheming, money-grubbing, over-priveleged politican.

33. I agree- a lesser crime boss is better than the current one
might neeed a devious one to threaten back against the Bushee slime
(boosheesta probably threatens his opponent's family off the record...)

You know that intimidation is a big tactic with the current fascist regime and maybe we need a good rich man's boy to punch back with his own threats...

you just know it's like a Mafia family feud behing the scenes. A nice guy might end up like Wellstone(rest his soul) or JFK Junior.

14. Our next Attorney General didn't quit the race tonight. Instead...
Edited on Tue Mar-02-04 08:34 PM by johnfunk
... he gave his supporters a terrific pep talk and (rightly) laid claim to putting bread-and-butter issues back on the political dinner table. He'll save the official withdrawal for tomorrow.

One thing is certain: the Democrats have had far and away the classiest and most qualified and inspiring slate of candidates for the nomination that either part has had in a very long time. Edwards showed a lot of optimism and plenty of class. He'll make a helluvan Attorney General -- can't wait to see him announce indictments of Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, Ari Fleischer and the rest...

EDIT: "party", not "part". I'll learn to type someday...

21. "classiest and most qualified"
Absolutely. Think about it - last fall it was widely claimed that this primary season would be BORING! Of my favorites, one got a minuscule delegate count and one quit too soon (DK & WC, if you couldn't guess), but I'm still so energized from these primaries that I could carry this all the way to November and beyond.

And I'm 100% with you on the Attorney General thing, I think he'd be great in that job - though may partly be because I'm holding out hope of Clark for VP. (I live in Cleveland, where this year's VP debate is being held, and I want to see Clark make Cheney wear his ass for a hat.)

but it makes good sense. (Because I really think a Kerry/Clark ticket would be absolutely unbeatable. Kerry/Edwards--eh, not so much.)

18. Congratulations on a Well Fought Campaign...
Edwards supporters,
Congratulations on a well fought campaign... The primary process was well-served by the participation of your candidate.

Hope you'll join the rest of us in booting Bush's ass to the curb in November. :)

Best,
Mike

29. WTF???
Edited on Tue Mar-02-04 10:06 PM by freeforall
I was just reading this afternoon (4pm MST) on CNN that Edwards said he wasn't going to drop out, even if Kerry got most of the delegates. It's only 8pm MST right now, and the headline is that he quit.

What's that all about? I guess everyone has decided to go with Kerry in an ABB attempt.

Maybe this is good. People can get behind Kerry (Dems and former Repubs and independents)and put their energy into supporting him to get rid of the chump. It will give everyone one candidate to focus on. Too bad it couldn't have worked out differently (I would have liked Kucinich and Dean or Clark and Dean) - but what can ya do, eh? (Especially when you're Canadian, LOL!)

Well, Go Kerry! Please support him, if only to get rid of *. We have to start somewhere - and Kerry is better than the shrub, who, I predict, is going to start making things very nasty.
