1. The Board Room boys at Halliburton might want to warm up
the Chairman's seat for ole Dick. He's gonna need it back soon.

2. As if there was any doubt!
C'mon, Cheney's the real power at the WH. Plus, who's going to replace him? Rudy G? A pro-gay, pro-choice New Yorker? Hello, candidate Moore! Tom Ridge? He makes Cheney look like a real live wire!

Nope, it's DC all the way. Remember, as they say, Dubya's only a heartbeat away from the Presidency...

3. More importantly
His ties with Halliburton and the PNAC group will give far greater scrutiny to his running again. This should be fun.

4. Umm...
... isn't it customary for a presidential candidate to announce their choice of running mate? Kind of says something about who wears the pants in the White House when it's Cheney who's announcing who's going to be his running mate.

5. Cheney chose himself as "running mate" last time
He's merely chosen himself again this time.
And the dauphin gets to head the ticket again.

6. This is totally excellent.
Everyone knows the Boy Blunder has never been allowed to hold the reigns.

A change on the ticket might make it appear to the confused masses that things could actually get better under a second term. Instead, they are promised more of the same self-righteous misery.

8. Man, is this gang in trouble or what?!?
I mean, Rudy and a flock of flacks are all over the tube now assuring us that the VP will stay on the ticket!

It reminds me of the story about LBJ being told that a rumor circulating about some politician having sex with an animal was not true, and replying "I know it's not true. I just want to be able to watch the press conference when he denies it."

Bwaaahahahahah!

9. This is great news - they have to defend their VP on the ticket!!!
Is this admin in trouble or what? They have to continually re-assure us that the sitting VP will be on the ticket...LOL.

The best part is that all his troubles are coming to a head in the coming months (outing of the CIA agent, secret energy meetings, Halliburton...)

Over those same months on our side: I heard tonight that Kerry may pick his VP well ahead of the Dem convention. Everyone anticipates the pick and it keeps the MO going for Kerry. And no matter who it is, a Dick C. - Dem VP match-up would be downright delicious.

10. Think about this
Why would the Republicans hand the Democrats all these issues by keeping Dick Cheney on the ticket?

-Halliburton controversy
-Secret energy meetings
-Exaggerated claims of 'mushroom clouds' and 'yellowcake'
-Scalia hunting trip (quack, quack)
-Stonewall of 9/11 investigation

The only plausible explanation I can come up with is that they would rather lose than be forced to reveal what they know about these things.

11. Well, maybe there will be a "Cheney surprise" after the Osama surprise....
Cheney gets "sick" or drops dead....and Guiliani steps in, just before the convention, so he can accept the nomination on the WTC graves....

12. That was never in doubt
the only question was who Cheney would chose as a Running Mate.

;-)
