Iran TV: partial vote recount verifies election result
Source: Reuters

TEHRAN, June 24 (Reuters) - Iranian state television said on Wednesday a partial recount of the vote in the country's disputed June 12 presidential election had verified the result.

Official results released a day after the election showed hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had won by a landslide, but his main moderate challenger Mirhossein Mousavi said the vote was rigged and called for it to be annulled.

Iran's English-language Press TV said in a scrolling headline: "Iran: partial vote recount verifies election result." It did not give details.

Iran's top legislative body -- the Guardian Council -- had previously said it was ready to recount a random 10 percent of votes cast, but it was not immediately clear whether this was what Press TV was referring to.

1. Iranian M$M just like American Imperial M$M in 2000 and 2004.
So many similarities...

2. Why do they even bother?
If there was a word of truth in it, they wouldn't have had to murder their own people. They could have simply invited them all to a public recount.

6. It is important to make certain people believe it in Iran.
Iran, like America from 2001-2009, is run and supported by right-wing authoritarians. RWAs are sorry critters totally unwedded to the truth and easily programmed.

The easiest way to program them is by having an authority source feed the bullshit--in this case the lie that the (bullshit) recount reflects the original (bullshit) results. Then, they wait for the bullshit to be refuted by other sources that the RWAs do not trust.

Perversely, right wing authoritarians believe the lie even more when it is accurately disputed. Thus, the Iranian government programs their audience to believe the party line at a crucial moment when the audience is about to be asked to totally surrender their personal rights, civil liberties, and role in government, and assist the government in doing so.

About one in four people in America is a RWA. I wouldn't expect that proportion to differ too much in Iran, which is also an oligarchy masquerading as some sort of populist government. RWAs prefer dominance through destruction to all other group strategies, especially cooperating and finding consensus. They will destroy this movement if the movement cannot make its voice heard on the international stage, and garner some sort of outside support.

3. LOLOLOLOLOL
That's like taking a partial vote here in the US of only voters from Houston. Yeah, real broad range of voters there! LOL

To the Iran ruling religious nuts, whatever you believe will get you through the night, but the reality is: is ain't over. In fact, it's very far from over.

the room of religious backslappers at work convincing themselves that all is well.

4. Exactly how might this be a surprise to anyone?
The pros fix what would be a close election for a win. Amateurs fix it for a landslide.

7. PressTV is a real trip! The other night, three Arab media stations
were reporting the demonstration and PressTV's broadcast said it didn't happen!

8. Why even bother?
The opposition will see this as a sham just like the original, I doubt anyone was waiting around for the original group of folks who rigged to election to go back and make sure they rigged it right.
