Paris, meet the Obama girls.

First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, who turns 8 on Monday, toured the Eiffel Tower Friday night in a surprise visit that delighted fellow tourists.

As the President arrived separately in France following his trip to the Middle East and Germany, the female members of the First Family briefly checked out the Parisian icon.

The Paris trip marks the Obama girls' first international journey since their dad became the nation's 44th President.

An Associated Press Television News journalist saw the three enter the Eiffel Tower. The First Lady waved to tourists who squealed and greeted her, the AP reported.

Happy Birthday Sasha!

1. Youngest child
I'm not so sure of that. I'm sure there were plenty of childish temper tantrums thrown in the White House as recently as 6 months ago.

2. In fairness, there is a difference between "young" and "immature" or "childish."

7. Agreed.
Plus I'm sure that Sasha and Malia would have been better options than Bush and Cheney

3. Surprise? I;ve been hearing for a while that the Obama family was going to Paris. A trip to the
Eiffel Tower during your first trip to Paris is not surprising. It would have been surprising if they did not go.

So, they did not announce the exact minute of their visit? Big deal.

Journalists get dumber by the day, or assume that we do.

8. Face it, your daughter's great because she has half your genes and she was raised right.
June 7 had nothing to do with it. If it did, my half-sister would be very different than she is. Just sayin'.
