1. protesting for their lives...
from the piece:

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of supporters of President Hugo Chavez marched on Sunday to protest what they criticized as U.S. meddling and rally support for the leftist leader as he battles an opposition referendum challenge.

Waving revolutionary flags and "Out with the CIA" and "No to Yankee Invasion" banners, Chavez sympathizers streamed through the capital under the watch of National Guard troops and two military helicopters circling overhead.

...

Political tensions have flared again recently as setbacks delayed a ruling by the National Electoral Council on whether to allow the recall referendum to go ahead. Two protesters were killed last week during an opposition march.

...

actually, it looks like it was one person at the most, and we still dont know how that happened: http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/news.php?newsno=1205

3. Fidel Castro was quoted this morning as saying that
it was his opinion that the people of the US were not really aware of just how right wing and extreme the Bush junta is. Can't say I disagree with that!

Also, there are many comparing what happened in Venezuela to what happened in Haiti. Except for US citizens, the world knows just how ugly Uncle Sam is. Pathetic.
