Graham Calls on Sotomayor to Apologize for 'Wise Latina' Statement

A prominent Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee called on Judge Sonia Sotomayor to apologize for saying years ago that she would hope a "wise Latina woman" often would reach a better conclusion than a white man.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told "FOX News Sunday" he wasn't buying President Obama's attempt to walk back his Supreme Court nominee's controversial statement from 2001. Obama said Friday that given the chance Sotomayor would have "restated" that comment, and that she was merely trying to express how her experiences give her perspective on others' hardships.

"She didn't say that at all," Graham countered Sunday, suggesting Sotomayor's statement raises questions about her objectivity.

"What she said is that based on her life experiences is that she thought a Latina woman, somebody with her background, would be a better judge than a guy like me -- a white guy from South Carolina," Graham said. "It is troubling, and it's inappropriate and I hope she'll apologize."

We have to start right now to marginalize Fox as a out of the mainstream, EXTREME RIGHT WING, opinion and entertainment channel for their relatively small demographic. We all have to stop taking Fox seriously (in the sense that all of us "respond" to their bullshit). I have said before that ANY Dem or progressive/liberal should not go on Fox, just boycott them. These lot find one comment in a speech which I find humorous, and invoking FDR's famous "9 old men" speech, and turn it into a major gaffe. Too bad they can't find jack spuat to call on her jurisprudence save once where she threw out the New Haven reverse discrimination lawsuit alongside her fellow majority jurist, only one fellow court disagreed and then they let the USSC handle it.

been doing that, they are obsessed with one sentence from a speech made 8 years ago. That tells me they have absolutely nothing on her but one sentence in 55 years. How many of them could meet that standard?
