A former Tennessee teacher who was convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old student is fighting for another shot at parole.

Pamela Rogers was arrested in February 2005 and pleaded no contest to having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the student, who attended the elementary school in McMinnville where she had taught physical education.

She was released early for good behavior, but was sent back to jail for sending nude photos to the boy after she was released.

Many of the responses on threads like this give me additional perspectives of the creepy photos of people indicted for sexual abuses I see in the local newspaper once a week... sure, they're still creepy, but I'm forced to entertain the sad fact that many of those indicted might consider themselves Democrats and progressives who post on message boards joking about sexual abuse.

But then again, I fully understand that a lot of people will joke about it, or even justify it, in order to better cover their own shames.
