Blix: I was a target, too
Chief UN weapons inspector believes he was bugged

The United Nations spying row widened yesterday when its former weapons inspector, Hans Blix, told the Guardian he suspected both his UN office and his home in New York were bugged in the run-up to the Iraq war.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Blix said he expected to be bugged by the Iraqis, but to be spied upon by the US was a different matter. He described such behaviour as "disgusting", adding: "It feels like an intrusion into your integrity in a situation when you are actually on the same side."

He said he went to extraordinary lengths to protect his office and home, having a UN counter-surveillance team sweep both for bugs.

"If you had something sensitive to talk about you would go out into the restaurant or out into the streets," he said.
Mr Blix's darkest fears were reinforced when he was shown a set of photographs by a senior member of the Bush administration which he insists could only have been obtained through underhand means.

2. Now he knows how DUers feel.....
Just kidding........or am I???? Not sure right now!

Anyway....it's deplorable that the U.S. has been doing this "spying" on members of the U.N. over shrub's trumped up war. Things have gotten WAY out of control. I wish Mr. Blix would send the UN troops in to guard U.S. citizens against this same government he's "disgusted" by! I'm pretty disgusted too, Hans!

:kick:

3. It is becoming clearer why many people do not want to stand up to
this regime. Can you even begin to imagine how many people
have been quieted by someone contacting them with photographs or information obtained in this manner? These folks have got to
go. I will cheer on the day that bastard and his cohorts pack up and leave.

10. Or how about Kerry infiltrating Dean's organization in Iowa?
Or making robocalls @ 3 am claiming its coming from Dean.

Sounds like Kerry may have some of the same tendencies as Bush.

At least this will make it a fair fight. Two dirty players going at it tooth and nail.

Should be entertaining.
