World press seizes on bugging claims
From: BBC Newsw

Papers across the world have picked up on former British cabinet minister Clare Short's allegations that the British government bugged UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's phone calls. Some argue that the revelations will damage British Prime Minister Tony Blair's reputation, though Ms Short's actions also come in for sharp criticism. The following is a snapshot of international comment:

<<Clare Short, a former Labour minister who is defying her government's accepted line, has once again tripped up Tony Blair... The former minister's accusation is all the more embarrassing because it comes the day after the collapse of a trial linked to the bugging of UN Security Council delegates.

France's Liberation>>

<<This affair comes at a very bad time for Mr Blair, who is attempting a reconciliation with public opinion - one which is rather hostile to the war - by stressing domestic political issues.

France's Le Monde>>

<<If the British government fails to get rid of the spying accusation, this will probably lose London even more credibility.

Germany's Sueddeutsche Zeitung>>

<<The real question mark that hangs over Tony Blair is not about the questionable legality in which the intelligence services nearly always operate, even in democracies with the most solid traditions. The key problem for him is... that of the lack of political credibility - both at home and abroad - linked to Iraq and his total alignment with the policy of the United States.

Italy's Corriere della Sera>>

1. Would it be treason
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 09:09 AM by DoYouEverWonder
if Blair carried out the bugging of UN officials based on a request (order) from the WH?

Edit: I just found this very interesting item. It is the original memo from Frank Koza, Def Chief of Staff (Regional Targets)CIV/NSA to the Brits:

As you've likely heard by now, the Agency is mounting a surge particularly directed at the UN Security Council (UNSC) members (minus US and GBR of course) for insights as to how to membership is reacting to the on-going debate RE: Iraq

4. This is the tip of the iceberg.
Just wait for the next biggie to blow in the UK press: How Blair, acting on a direct request from Shrub, sanctioned the hostage-taking of the UN's Head of Military Intelligence, by paid-off UK-based IRA members, during the summer of 2000. Why? Because of UN Security Council reports from 1992-1998 detailing the systematic total destruction of all WMD's and the spying network that Aldrich Ames recruited worldwide, along with FBI traitor Bob Hanssen, to propagate disinformation to prove that WMD's actually existed.

This intelligence also listed all the Opus Dei members worldwide in the Ames and Hanssen network who had infiltrated intelligence gathering agencies and security organisations.

At the moment anyone trying to publish this one in the UK press receives a nasty visit from the Special Branch.

There is a hush hush law suit in the UK High Court currently where the family of the UN Head of Military Intelligence is suing Blair over this.

So if Blair is looking sick as a parrot these days - and Shrub looks like he's hitting the sauce again - it may well be connected!

9. OK, so Murdoch is not going to do it but there are others
> At the moment anyone trying to publish this one in the UK press

So why not post it on an overseas web site?

Publish it in France or Germany?

Print it in India?

That's how people often get UK-suppressed information out to the
world at large.

Another nail in the administration coffin. God, it just keeps piling up. Even though we knew about this for months it is a pleasure to watch the light shedd on these cockroaches and watching them scramble for the shadows.

I googled for Thatcher Opus Dei BCCI and got this:

My mind is so boggled by information about the evil elite I almost can't process it anymore.

16. Careful about the Diana link:
Three, separate women played the public role of 'Princess Diana:

This is the first one, the one who wore the wedding dress etc

This is the official second one

This is the last one, who died in Paris 1997

There is a UK Ministry of Defence gagging order about publishing or discussing anything remotely connected to this.

The Royal Coroner has the legal right to the DNA profiles of all three Dianas.

The official inquest is scheduled to be hear at the end of 2004/start of 2005.

20. Well, they all had different shoe sizes for a start!
And different parents. And anyone who discusses this in the UK press is busted under the Official Secrets Act. That means it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to state in public that the first 'Diana' was an illegitimate daughter of Tory MP Cecil Parkinson. That the second one was originally a lookalike model who got the nod for the big part when Diana No 1 was despatched to obscurity. And then there was No 3: Ex UK PM John Major has some awkward questions to answer if asked to submit to a DNA test to compare his to hers.

Ever wonder why 'Prince William and Prince Harry' have Major as the official legal guardian, and why the £17 million they allegedly inherited from their Ma is frozen despite Major being a trustee?

The Tories started a grim charade that ended up in the death of No 3 (who herself said in her TV interview: "Well, there were thre of us in that marriage, so it was a bit difficult" - as if that referred to 'Camilla'). The story ain't over yet.

27. Charles is never going to be King and they had to recruit someone
who would go with the charade of the House of Windsor.

The 3 'Dianas' were paid to play a public role as a disinformation campaign cooked up by the Tories

13. Mexican outrage over UN bugging allegations
(can't find a link detailing this, but is from an email outlining what's on tonight's Channel 4 News):

The Mexicans are hopping mad. Our man in New York, Jonathan Rugman, is having his ear bent even as I write. The Mexican Ambassador to the UN has hauled him in to tell him of his country's outrage over the revelations from the Gun case.

Katharine Gun's prosecution under the Official Secrets act was driven by her leaking an email that had crossed her desk at the GCHQ spy centre. The email was from the US security agency asking for assistance in penetrating the doings and goings on of the six swing states whose votes would matter when it came to a second UN resolution sanctioning war on Iraq. In the six was Mexico, the implication is that we were spying on Mexico at the UN.

19. You're not supposed to spy on your allies.
It's a major breach of trust. Yes everybody spies, they spy on their enemies. Bu$h spied on UN Weapons Inspectors, they were on our side. They were part of the team. The Sec. Gen of the UN can not function without being able to conduct sensitive business privately.

Bu$h & Co. have destroyed the reputation of the USA. They have destroyed our credibility. The level of criminality within this misadministration is unprecedented. I never thought America could be so easily taken over by such bad people.

Not a big surprise. Boutros-Boutros said that the Sec General is spied on constantly by the US, Britain, France, Russia and many other countries and has been since 1945.

25. When John Major was PM, this also happened but it was hushed
up a lot quicker. But Aldrich Ames DID get busted!

Shrub and Poodle are slap bang in the middle of a mess that was originally supposed to be a Churchillian heroic scenario to give them both much needed re-electional gravitas.

Neither now has a hope in hell. The UK BCCI lawsuit is only just gearing up to dish the dirt on the BFEE...
