1. Notice the headline
"Confidence in Bush Slips Further" they could have said "Bush Still Popular". Maybe the tipping point has been reached. Maybe.

2. Jeez...the good news and the bad news:
"WASHINGTON, July 8 — Public support for President Bush is slipping on a wide range of issues, including the economy, health care and the war in Iraq, but his Democratic presidential rivals do not appear to be capitalizing, according to a national survey released Tuesday."

4. The Dems are not
capitalizing because the corporate media is too busy with Laci or a dog that can fart the Stars Spangle Banner.

16. It's the so-called "Liberal media"
...still spinning everything that Bush does wrong as to something he deliberately (like a genius, even!) did that will eventually turn out right :eyes:
The intense patriotism lingers still...

3. Love this line
"You might expect some candidate would come to represent an alternative to the American public,” Kohut said. “But that hasn’t happened so far.”

Just about any of them would be a better alternative but networks like MSNBC don't give them the time of day.

5. Approval rating in the 50's? When and where does the next war start?
If I was writing a book on this presidency I would call it "The Longest Honeymoon".

7. Once a Democratic candidate is chosen the attention will be focused on
that person and I'll bet you'll see a change. Right now I think the public is not giving it much thought since there is no definite candidate.
