Lawsuit expected that will challenge ban on Canadian drugs
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 11:13 AM by onehandle
An Illinois couple say they plan to file a lawsuit as early as Thursday against the Bush administration, challenging as unconstitutional the law that bars consumers from buying prescription drugs from Canada.

While the FDA (news - web sites) has successfully confronted enterprises that help U.S. residents buy drugs in Canada - winning a key case against a chain of such stores in November - no consumer has challenged the FDA over the laws that govern the importation of drugs.

CNN described them as an "elderly couple". Bash that Chimp!

1. That you would need to sue your government to live
and do so affordably was NEVER comprehended by our Founding Fathers. Even so, they provided the mechanism to do so and I hope this couple wins! I hope that states keep standing up and I hope that they refuse to confirm McClellan.

3. When SCOTUS overturned the Medical Necessity defense
to stop medical marijuana, Americans also lost the right to get other drugs via that legal principal that goes back past the magna charta.

But hey, Tommy Chong is in prison, so all's right with the world, according to Asscroft.

2. I saw a great quote on this issue last night...
But I'm old and feeble, and can't remember where I saw it. Wouldn't surprise me if I saw it here.

If this is your quote, feel free to take all the credit for this:

"If prescription drugs from other countries aren't safe, why isn't the rest of the world dead?"

I love that!
