Ford recovering from broken hip
This just hit the local paper this morning. Sen. Ford has been a party stalwart for many years. Let's all wish him a speedy recovery.

Retired U.S. Sen. Wendell Ford of Owensboro is recovering from a broken hip suffered in a fall Feb. 18 at a service station in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Steve Ford said his father was pumping gas and walked around to wash his windshield. As the 79-year-old Democrat stepped over the gas hose, his trailing foot caught on the hose, tripping him, his son said.

Steve Ford said the surgery at Fort Lauderdale's Imperial Point Medical Center to repair his father's broken left hip was successful. But doctors discovered a blockage in one of the elder Ford's arteries.

Ford was transferred to Holy Cross Hospital's Jim Moran Heart & Vascular Center for an angioplasty -- using a balloon inserted into an artery to clear the blockage -- that was scheduled for either late Tuesday or today.

In 1974, Ford was elected to the U.S. Senate, where he served for 24 years, including terms as assistant majority leader and assistant minority leader.

I still don't understand what your problem is.

You shouldn't be wishing harm on anybody. But especially not on Wendell Ford, who is a liberal Democrat and a good guy. Kindly operate brain and STFU.

10. For those who obviously don't know Sen. Ford
WE MISS HIM STILL in Kentucky!! He was our Democratic Senator and an INSTITUTION. The "tobacco guy"? Maybe, but you ought to be a bit more precise. Kentucky was -- and still is -- home to a great many tobacco FARMERS, and Ford was their guy. He looked out for the common man and woman!

Hell, I miss him and I'm in Mississippi now!
