GOP activists launch recall campaign of attorney general
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/states/california/counties/alameda_county/8029344.htm

SACRAMENTO - Even as Attorney General Bill Lockyer prepared court papers Tuesday to stop same-sex marriages, a pair of conservative Republicans who helped organize last year's recall of former Gov. Gray Davis announced plans to remove Lockyer from office for "neglecting" state marriage laws.

U.S. Senate hopeful Howard Kaloogian and political consultant Ted Costa opened a petition drive to recall Lockyer, arguing that the two-term attorney general has been ignoring Proposition 22, a measure approved by voters in 2000 that requires the state to only recognize marriage between a man and a woman as valid.

Lockyer, a potential rival to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006, has been criticized in the last week for not moving more aggressively to enforce Proposition 22 and stop San Francisco city officials from issuing thousands of same-sex marriage licenses since Feb. 12.

All I can do is roll my eyes at the latest Gestapo attack plan….this one, I think, will die a quick death…

2. I think you're right, peterh.
Are progressives secretly paying the GOP right-wing wackos to behave like this?

Because it's exposing them for the hate-mongerers that they are.

There's no jobs, no health coverage, a weakened education system, alienated allies, and a Quaeda flying planes into skyscrapers --

--and the Far Right is mobilizing around gay marriage.

Unbelieveable.

6. This will go nowhere...
very entertaining though. Schwarzenegger would oppose any recall. It would be great to see some intra-GOP strife though.

7. Kaloogian and Costa?
Wingnut morons. A lot of us are still pissed off about the Schwarzenegger coup, and if the GOP tries another recall to foist in one of their goose-steppers, it won't play so well.

8. As in prop22, the Mormons and Catholic churches will bankroll this
Count on it. They vote en masse and they sent money by the bucketload to the bigots that put forth proposition 22 here in CA last time.

11. The more you tighten your grasp!
The more AGs will slip between your fingers Governor Gropenator!

Their arrogance will be their end. It won't be pretty...but we are going to win this time around and Bushco and Arnuld and the rest are going to be wondering where all the PR factories went wrong come Nov2.

Bet on it.
