BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- The European Union and South Korea banned the import of all poultry products from the United States on Tuesday following the outbreak of a highly contagious strain of avian influenza in Texas.

Russia, the United States' largest poultry export market, blocked poultry imports only from Texas but said it was considering a U.S.-wide ban. The Philippines also was considering a ban.

The remaining economic engine of the rural southeast.

The South is officially up for grabs, folks, because unemployment in the rural south is about to hit 15-20%, even higher in some places.

destabilizing.

Food - Homeland Security of the most basic kind
I'm talking Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).

It works. Been around since the late 1980s -- may be time to ramp it up in the city or town where you live.

In the face of Big Agro and the Mutant "food products" it is foisting on you and your family (sans labels to give you any clue about what you are eating) many people are moving toward CSA. Mad Cow and Avian flu chickens are ramping up the motivation.

Terrorist threats is a whole new, unsettling idea. Nonetheless, CSA is a viable response.

It's a big change, but it ensures clean, healthy food -- and supports a local enviro oasis, and gives local people good honest hard-working jobs on the land. Local economy:
