CIA chief visited Islamabad, shared information on bin Laden

CIA chief George Tenet quietly visited Islamabad in the second week of this month to share information on Osama bin Laden, amid stepped-up hunt by US forces in Afghanistan for the Al Qaida leader, official sources said yesterday.

The sources did not say whom Tenet met during his brief stay here or whether he called on President Pervez Musharraf, who last week warned that the Pakistani forces would sternly deal with foreign elements hiding in the countr's tribal region if they did not surrender.
