Jordanian charged with spying for Israel
A Jordanian government employee has been charged with spying for Israel, after he allegedly confessed to providing Tel Aviv with information about the Jordanian military and other facilities.

Khaled Mohammed Salim al-Hayajneh was detained Oct. 21, 2003, but the charges filed against him, made available to The Associated Press on Monday, brought the case to light for the first time.

1. You always post the most interesting news.
I swear though, I just don't trust anyone or any thing anymore. If Jordan's judicial processes are as corrupt as our's then we will never know if this man is actually guilty of these charges or not.

2. LOL I'm always glad to know anybody reads it

Jordan is the model the regime would like to see all nations strive for. Most obedient. If only they could all be like Abdullah, sighs Cheney, he's one of the good ones. Not a bit uppity.

3. ???
Jordan is not a model for the Bush Administration. The late King Hussein was very close to Clinton, Queen Noor is a very close personal friend of Hillary Clinton's. Abdullah seems to have taken after them. The Jordanians opposed the war in Iraq and are long-time determined enemies of Achmed Chalabi's. They have their own interests in Iraq and those conflict with Dick Cheney's, though not the United States'.

4. The model they would like to see other nations adopt

Jordan is a valued ally in the war on terror, and is very cooperative when the US needs an understanding place for more "intensive" interrogation of persons suspected of opposing US policy toward its extra-territorial properties around the globe and the natural resources therein.

Because about 2/3 of Jordan's population are Palestinian refugees, in fact Queen Rania herself is Palestinian, and Abdullah's kids are therefore half Palestinian, the regime is willing to be a little lenient on some statements that may be needed from the Palace from time to time in the interests of domestic calm.

However, in the run-up to US operations to secure its resources in Iraq, Jordan was most compliant with regime directives regarding strict clampdown of expressions of sentiments critical of US policy.
