U.S. Air Force Plans for Future War in Space
U.S. Air Force Plans for Future War in Space

The U.S. Air Force has filed a futuristic flight plan, one that spells out need for an armada of space weaponry and technology for the near-term and in years to come.

Called the Transformation Flight Plan, the 176-page document offers a sweeping look at how best to expand America's military space tool kit.

The use of space is highlighted throughout the report, with the document stating that space superiority combines the following three capabilities: protect space assets, deny adversaries' access to space, and quickly launch vehicles and operate payloads into space to quickly replace space assets that fail or are damaged/destroyed.

(snip)

A possible breakthrough, the document adds, deals with a solid-state directed energy beam systems, operating at 100-kilowatt levels. "If the generation of large quantities of heat could be managed, the Air Force could develop highly effective, cheap, high power energy weapons."

2. Defending those space assets
Playing devil's advocate... I launch a series of nukes in to space and detonate them. The Electo-magnetic pulse wipes out everything
nearby. Done in a simulataneous attack, all space systems would
shut down.

Combine this with an attack on the primary and backup uplink stations so the EMP destroys the communications to teh space systems
and the early warning radar... and then, like on 9/11 the high tech
systems don't defend against squat... and all the taxpayer has paid
for is a white elephant.

A series of underwater detonations off american coastlines would
create tidal waves that would wipe out ameircan port cities.

I think these fools have forgotten what war is in this interconnected universe. Nobody wins in a space war, if one really
starts... If they want to make it to the next century without killing
80 million americans, the money would be better spent on ending
starvation; AIDS; hepatitis; malaria and striving for first world
healthcare for all citizens of the earth.

Imagine A new president saying, like kennedy once said, that we as
a nation are going to achieve NO starvation deaths anywhere on earth
by 2010. THAT is good defence policy. These fools can't even
defend the country from a bunch of ragtag pilots, Imagine a determined country with nuclear submarines and ballistic missiles.

4. Warfare in the 21st Century link-the masters of war have got many plans
and since I'm linking to military/government sites please don't label me as a tin-foil nut job as these are quite real plans drawn up and developed through the decades.

5. A Congressman from Ohio sponsored legislation against
space weapons.

The language of HR2977 The Space Preservation Act of 2001 concerning "exotic weapons" disappeared from the revision HR3616 The Space Preservation Act of 2002 though. It even mentioned "mind control".
