U.N. secretary, Bill Clinton visit Haiti on diplomatic mission

Jacqueline Charles | The Miami Herald

last updated: March 09, 2009 07:08:17 AM

.................

Armed with star power and global influence, the two dignitaries are scheduled to arrive in Haiti's capital for an overnight visit that will include working meetings with Haitian President Rene Preval and Prime Minister Michele Pierre-Louis.

Clinton, traveling with a delegation of business leaders, will also sit down with key Haitian business figures before touring the country's lingering devastation – and its best prospects for hope.

It is an unprecedented diplomatic assault, launched by the United Nations and followed a day later with a rare visit by the international organization's most powerful body, the U.N. Security Council.

The hope is the series of high-profile visits will provide Haiti with the kind of global and humanitarian support it needs as it struggles with deepening poverty, donor fatigue and the worst humanitarian disaster in 100 years.

2. Some of this is crap - this paragraph - crap because of the World Bank.

The World Bank and IMF were in on the coup that pulled Aristede up from the land of Haiti and dumped him in Africa. They had boots down.

The World Bank has done NADA for Haiti. They were the de facto President while they planted terrorists to pretend they were the President.

Something is wrong and sick in Haiti. It's the suit and tie guys - the outsiders who were supposed to start helping it in

Here's a sentence from Wikipedia: He - is Aristede.

"He was deposed twice, first in a military coup de force in September, 1991, and subsequently in a February 2004 rebellion in which former FAdH soldiers participated."

The gall of the writing to call it a rebellion. It was a U.S. and France coup with their World Bank and IMF collaboraton to make it look professionally called for.

Those soldiers reported to the World Bank and IMF. There were mass killings of Aristede supporters.

No one of those financing organizations did a think. It may have been all about using Haiti as a drug rendezvous point.

Let's see if there is some action now. Starting with an alternative to cutting down those trees.

The first sentence of this article is weird -

"Not since Haiti plunged into anarchy that led to the ouster of its democratically elected president five years ago has it received such targeted attention on the world stage."

When did Haiti 'plunge into anarchy' - after the World Bank and IMF moved in?
