Lewinsky Outraged over Kerry 'Affair' Furore
http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=2556563

Monica Lewinsky tonight described her feelings of outrage at the furore that has blown up around a woman accused of having an affair with American presidential hopeful Senator John Kerry.

Alex Polier, 27, a journalism graduate, has denied being involved with Mr Kerry, a 61-year-old married father-of-two, but her private life has still been the focus of intense speculation, something that has angered Ms Lewinsky.

Earlier this week the graduate broke her silence and said: “I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, and the rumours in the press are completely false.”

In an interview to be broadcast on the 10.30pm ITV News, Ms Lewinsky said: “I really just felt empathic for the girl, the young woman, and for her family and at the same time I was really outraged because I thought once again we have politics dipping into someone’s personal life and whether it’s true or not, it shouldn’t matter. It should just be left alone.”

Ms Lewinsky said: “I really just felt empathic for the girl,

Isn't that statement completely wrong?

Shouldn't it be "I really felt empathy for..."?

*shrug* Guess that's why she was an intern..

On Edit: Yeah yeah.. a freakin typo

She's had her time in the limelight. That little..."dog and pony" whore show to distract us from NAFTA and WTO. We had over a year of hearing about her.

She and RWers distracted the press with sex. Oh yah..like she didn't know it was going to happen to her? Get real..a little spy in the oval office. Get lost Monica.

5. Monica was not a whore
I truly believe she was in love with Bill Clinton and expressed it. Calling her a whore is unfair and does nothing to diffuse the affair.

I also believe that Bill had honest emotional feeling for her and the whole relationship should have been kept private.

15. No, I am not kidding
Monica most likely had love for Bill or she would not have served him so well. I am also sure Bill held some honest attraction for Monica and it could have been love or some other needed feeling.

Calling Monica a whore is not fair and is a cheap shot.

Are you pinning all the blame on Monica? I would think the exchange was mutual. I myself would never entertain a BJ because I am into women and want to marry the one I am with. I'm hoping our democratic candidate allows us to get married.

a. Of course we CAN comment on it, since we are doing so :^{)

b. A very careful reading of the Starr materials allows us to make inferences about the nature of the relationship based on the behaviors exhibited. I've done that. You are correct. There was a genuine and mutual affection irrespective of any sexual actuvity.

22. I would have no ill will...
Towards Monica if she hadn't plastered herself around the talk show cicuit bilking every bit of attention she could get out of the situation two years after the impeachment, but she pissed me off.

I do apologize however, I usually am more tasteful in my comments than to just call someone a fat slob when I am at loss for anything else to say.

The impeachment matter causes me great pain and it would probably be better if I just didn't comment on it at all.

Starr and the others of the Arkansas project wanted to run up her legal bills, a form of harassment. They did the same to Clinton.

6. Her time in the limelight
was extremely involuntary and only happened because she was being taped without her knowledge and permission by a RW shill.

If there was a "dog and pony whore" show it was presented courtesy of the RW conspirators and Scaife operatives who got paid a pretty penny to try and bring down a popular Democratic president.

...she was a "whore"? IMHO, she didn't do anything that remotely resembles that rather reprehensible remark.

If you want to blame someone for the Lewinsky-Clinton affair, blame Clinton first...he should have known better. Then blame all the swarms of NeoCon deputy dogs under Starr's behest that went on a fishing expedition in Clinton's trousers. Then start working on the NeoCon congresspeople that joined in the hunt.

...are the most to blame, IMHO.

Because the media is owned by major conservative corporations they are pretty much confined to writing stories that are pre-approved by those corporations. The media is nothing but a tool to be used however the corporations wish.

48. uh-huh, uh-huh
i know that when i was a young woman i always came home from a date, handed a sperm soaked dress to my mother and said, "i'm in love! hang on to this for me!"

i don't generally do tin-foil, but the whole monica thing reeks of the vast right-wing conspiracy of which hilary spoke - and maybe even she didn't realize at the time how vast the conspiracy was.

is bill responsible for his indiscretions? most assuredly! and he has certainly paid the piper, in ways most cheating men never have to. plus, i'm sure that the tender mercies of his wife serve to remind him often of what it means to be a pig of a man. but really, nevermind that. i never cared about the big dogs sex life. in fact, in a general way of speaking, if i had to vote based on virility, i'd tend to prefer a virile man to an asexual one.

but, off of that tangent, and on to another one - why do we have to read a non-US article to read the "i never had a relationship with john kerry" quote?

Let them remind us every night that once, we had a president who sometimes pissed us off, but who was optimistic, who liked people, who busted his ass trying to make peace between the god-simple idiots who were hell-bent on killing everybody, and who gave us the eight best economic years this country has ever had.

And just for the record, I always thought Bill had excellent taste in women. And I liked Monica, too.

Oh, I suppose I could speculate that she was young enough to have been romantically engaged with Bill and to have been "used" by Scaife et al,...I guess. But, for her to trot her dress downtown,...that was no act by some gullible innocent.

NO, and I do mean NO gullible innocent romantic young protected woman would have done that!!! There is absolutely no rational human being who can convince me otherwise. I believe it was a setup from start to finish. This isn't a "crime" where I am devout to an "innocence before proven guilty" situation. Besides, what evidence I have accumulated without a trial convinces me that this woman is a member of *LOL* "the dark side" *LOL*.

Why bring up an article from a tabloid about Monica Lewinsky's opinion about a lie. This just keeps the lie in the press longer, as intended, but we shouldn't keep it up here.
