Growing gulf between Iranians and their leaders
TEHRAN, Iran - At the pulpit of Friday's traditional prayers here, the slogan master warmed up the crowd with a familiar refrain. "Down with America! Down with Israel!" he chanted, readying several thousand mostly older Iranians for the main act, a sermon delivered by Ayatollah Ahamad Jannati, one of the country's hard-line leaders.

Across town, at the Computer Capital mall, Ali Reza Jafari, a 30-year-old computer technician, said he didn't see much wrong with America.

"I have an uncle in Tennessee and a cousin in California," said the 30-year-old with shoulder-length hair. "Iran needs relations with other countries."

1. Youth Revolution
Iran is poised for a youth cultural revolution, like America in the '60s.

3. Lets hope so........
seems like the youth are the only ones that seem to get these days. all these old cronnies hangin around seem to just muddle everything all up. I think that saying "you can't teach an old dog, new tricks" is very relavent all over the planet. Lets hope we make long enough for the youth to fill these leaders positions, cause that may be the only thing that saves us.

5. Trouble is, the 60's youth movement turn into ...
... the Bush-supporters of today.

Once they started having kids, they decided that progressive attitudes were SO last-decade and became the yuppie, conservative, SUV-driving troublemakers that have nearly finished destroying this country.

If youthful idealism is just temporary, then it's never more than a stop-gap. We need to know how to communicate the values of decency, honesty, fairness, etc. to everyone.

4. Just like there was a growing gulf between Iraqis and Saddam?
