Muslim group urges dialogue with West
The head of Indonesia's largest Muslim organization urged religious leaders around the world to work together and prevent radicals from abusing faith for political purposes.

"There is no conflict between religions, only between different interests abusing religions," said Hashim Muzadi, chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama, which claims to have as many as 40 million members.

The influential group, said to be the largest Islamic social organization in the world, runs numerous hospitals, schools and other institutions of higher learning in Indonesia.

4. They wouldn't have to.
Islam is already the fastest growing religion in the west. And when was the last time a muslim evengelical came to your door offering you a Quran?

That's right, It's just not done.

2. why not? It's an effort! First good news since when..?
Better than nothing... somebody who is trying to converse you is actually talking to you.

Most muslims don't caer what in what God you believe as long as you don't mess with them.

I know some muslim families and they are quite nice.. they have some different values from us, and as long as you respect them they're very friendly hosts.

5. This is good.
And a great quote that does put all this in the proper perspective.
"There is no conflict between religions, only between different interests abusing religions,"

6. Actually, Muslim groups have been saying this for years, but the Christian
Fundamentalists don't want them to spoil the big party/war. They'll deny it, bury it, ignore it, or revert to their talking points about Islam, forgetting that Christians have killed far more Muslims in history than vice versa. Or they might even claim that the Muslims are trying to convert them. (As if . . .).
