OH-Sen: Jennifer Brunner To Run For Senate

The first game-changing news on the Democratic side in Ohio sees Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, an eminent champion of election reform, prepared to announce for the U.S. Senate.

Good news: Brunner would be an excellent United States Senator and Ohio would be lucky to have her.

Bad news: The last thing the Ohio Democratic Party needs is for a Republican to win the Secretary of State's office. Ask anyone who lived in the state when Ken Blackwell ran the show.

Ohio would be lucky to have her as a senator, but it would be bad to lose her as SOS.

1. I'm in.
:patriot:

If I'm not selling pencils on a corner by summer, I'll support her nomination.

2. That would give you lots of time to volunteer, though. nt

3. Not really, I would still need to find SOME kind of work...
...to pay the mortgage. And there are real limits on what I can do in terms of volunteering due to personal limitations.

4. she deserves a medal for standing up to the election fraudsters
(aka, the GOP) during this past elections.

she's a heroine of mine:-)

Please find a suitable SOS -- you don't want to end up like us (Karen Handel of election fraud 2006) or a redo of Ken Blackwell

5. Yes. She's the anti-Blackwell.
Or the anti-Harris, either way. I can't tell you how many times I have seen cases captioned State ex rel. XXXXX County Republican Committee v. Brunner (or substitute "board of elections" for R. committee) on the state Supreme Court docket. Wa-a-a-a-h! Jennifer's picking on us! Wa-a-a-a-h!

6. I recall reading that her life was threatened during the election
ostensibly because she fought for people's right to vote...and you know how the GOP feels about that.

8. She'd probably be a better Senator than most of them,
...but I wish she'd stay as Secretary of State longer.

9. I doubt a GOP will win SoS since Dem party in Ohio rebuilt and strengthened its infrastructure
under Howard Dean's stewardship of the DNC, and Dems actually now have muscular representation at every level of the election process where the votes are allowed, cast and counted. HUGE difference from McAuliffe's DNC who let Ohio's party collapse further after 2000s theft.

12. Ohio DUers reported that Republicans had taken over leadership of our Ohio party a few years ago.
I found the story to be rather stunning, but these individuals did have Republican "associations/networking". There was a big fight for control of the Ohio Democratic party about four years ago.

11. Hopefully the next GOP SoS who tries to fix an election will be
waterboarded on Cleveland Public TV.
