Myers: Forces' Return From Iraq Unknown
AP Wire

February 19, 2004

WASHINGTON -- The top U.S. military officer said Thursday he could not estimate with confidence how long American forces will have to stay in Iraq.

"I really do believe it's unknowable," said Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in an interview with a group of reporters. "If I gave a good professional estimate, then that would be a standard that people would point to and, knowing that we can't know it perfectly, we'd get hammered."

<snip>

For planning purposes, the Army is assuming it will have to keep roughly 100,000 troops in Iraq for at least another two years, other officials have said.

<snip>

"Actually, the things we've sat around and talked about before have been wrong on every count," he said with a chuckle. "So that's probably another reason why I don't want to" discuss it. Although he did not mention it, U.S. officials had assumed when Baghdad fell to U.S. forces last April that tens of thousands of troops could be withdrawn within a few months.

Everyday these madmen still continue to astonish me. Here is Myers, the friggen head of the Joint Chief of Staff, and he admits that he doesn't know shit. And even more appalling, he admits that they have gotten EVERYTHING WRONG! Excuse me? Why are these incompetent nincompoops still in power? We went to war against two nations, we have killed 1000's of people, we have bankrupted the US economy and now you admit, of gee we made a mistook? Keep in mind Myers is one of the key people who sat on his hands the morning of 9-11. He blew it then and he's blown it everyday since then.

1. They were wrong about everything
and they have gotten away with it. That's why it is important to sign the petition and call your reps.

from Moveon.org.
"Our Censure campaign has picked up incredible momentum. Already, more than half a million MoveOn members have signed onto our petition calling on Congress to censure President Bush for misleading us into war."

We need to join with Moveon.org to ask our reps to censure *.

6. That's the sick part
They all think it's funny. Look at how they light up when they talk about war and death, especially W. I don't know what kind of prescription drugs this crew favors now a days, but they are one sick bunch of mother fuckers.

4. they sit around talking
chuckling at their perpetual ineptness
while around them soldiers are dying.
Iraq descends into civil war, and b*sh remains "troubled" only by gay marriage.
Laughing at how unprepared you are makes sense if you forget a rain coat and are caught in a downpour. Invading and occupying Iraq however . . . What a shallow and heartless remark. How dislocated from reality they all are.

5. But if you need to know anything about Star Wars ...
Myers is the man! That's how he got his job. Bush wanted a Star Wars expert as Chairman. Now our #1 general is a guy who doesn't have a clue about ground combat. Just another incompetent Bush appointee.
