Poll shows Bush's approval rating in Ohio dips to 49%
Ahhh... Bush Fatigue finally reaches my state. Listen, Ohio, there's a good chance we'll be the battleground this year. Let's not screw this up.

Here come the candidates! Here come the candidates!
:-)

Excerpt:

President George W. Bush's approval rating has slipped below 50 percent in Ohio for the first time in his presidency, according to the latest Ohio Poll, released this morning.

In the poll, conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati, 49 percent said they approve of the president's performance, 49 percent disapprove and 2 percent neither approve nor disapprove.

The president's approval rating in previous Ohio Polls has reached as high as 87 percent in November 2001, but has been dropping in recent months. In October, it stood at 54 percent.

In the latest poll, 47 percent of Ohioans approve of the way Bush is handling foreign affairs; 40 percent approve of his handling of the economy.

3. Bush Has No Chance!
Our state has stagnated in growth, our schools are underfunded and crumbling, college tuition is sky-high, and too many people have lost their jobs. And did I mention that our governor is a dimwit?

If we Ohioans organize to counter the GOP onslaught and get the word out to the people, even Diebold won't be able to deliver Ohio for Dubya.

8. True, our governor is a real clueless jackass.
But he has a famous last name. So I guess that makes him qualified.

10. How do folks in Ohio feel about the Diebold thug's arrogant claim
to deliver Ohio to Bush? I would think they would be furious and toss out ALL Diebold machines. Do they even know?

17. Governor Taft & Shrub are living proof...
...that a famous name doesn't always make for a good administrator.

Oddly, Bob Taft wasn't a Skull & Bones member, despite his great-great granfather's status within the organization (Alfonzo Taft was a founder).

5. Gore GAVE Bush Ohio last time and STILL --
-- only lost by 3.5 points or so.

This time, Bush is down in the polls & in a weaker position. Jobs are leaving NE Ohio like crazy.

We take Ohio this time, and with it, probably the election.

24. The Old, Tested and True Slogan:
"As Cleveland goes, so goes Ohio.

As Ohio goes, so goes the nation."

How I love that phrase, and it's almost always true. Even though I abhor Cleveland (spoken like a true Cincinnatian).

30. Hi, VolcanoJen.
Sorry I am so late getting back to this thread.

I liked your logo a lot.

Do whatever you can to encourage Democrats to turn out in November. We really need to grab Ohio back from the Bushies.

13. Based on a 2-part investigative report of an Indianapolis TV station
about the touch screen voting machines which I posted in LBN in the last couple of days, Bush could win the election by 200 million votes while the Democratic candidate gets two votes. That's how easy it is to tamper with these machines.

19. I live on the border with Ohio (WV)...
and actually was born over there-know a lot of people from Buckeyeland...know a lot of republicans, too.

One friend I have known for 30 years and who has always been a republican has completely washed his hands of them...says they aren't really republicans...calls them the party of Capitalist Pigs! His wife, a fundamentalist christian, told me they think corporate America is the Beast-a souless, inhuman, world spanning entity. My buddy has a son of voting age this time, and he is working on him and his mother- and father-in-law. I think this is how we will win the next election...people quietly talking to people. It helps that their daughter's boyfriend is heading for Iraq now with the Marines...and the son is draft-age.

The best links I find with dirt on Bush I send over there and they send them on to all their extended family and friends, all over the US. It makes a big difference if you recieve these kinds of e-mails from people you trust. I'm sure many of you know someone who you may have written off as being icorrigibly paleolithic in times past. Maybe now is the time to ask them what they think of George Bush and the republican party...maybe send a link on awol, or some such-there is so much to chose from! You might be surprised.

My friends fundamentalist wife is gonna go nuts when she finds out about the 15 year old girl abortion story!! And then she will e-mail it to all her friends! I am so happy! I love the internet...it is so...connected.

20. This news just made my whole day!
Ohio was very close in the last election, and I think (fraud aside) we have a damn good chance of going blue this year. I'm energized and ready to start stumping.

Fuck Diebold. I'm going to deliver Ohio to the Democratic candidate. (I might need a little help with that, though)

22. I just ran into Pat Tiberi (R-OH).
I got into the elevator and the congressman was there with a young republican looking ass kissing assistant. I didn't realize who he was until I asked the receptionist if he was someone famous. When she told me I wanted catch up with him and ask him to tell bush not to fuck with my overtime. But I guess if I'd done that I'd writing this post from my house instead of work.
