1. Primary votes will tell a story.
The story will be about the need and drive for true change, or the story will be about how the Dean movement was just a blip on the radar screen of politics.

Passions flair and passions cool.

Which one will it be people?

It's up to you.

2. I find this highly confusing.
By the time my state's primary rolls around, the nominee will long be a given, so I suppose it doesn't matter. But this not-quite-a-decision only intensifies my feelings of ambivalence about the doctor.

3. Gee, his plan sounds like a plan to me.
The more votes he gets in the primaries, the more leverage there will be for change. This will start to take place at the convention when the planks for the platform are written.

Stuff like health care, job creation, war and peace will be hashed out.

If Dean was given support in the primaries, then he will have the power to have a say.

It is just that simple.

7. So, is he still running or not?
To me,

running = campaigning, trying to win votes

Not running = accepting defeat gracefully, endorsing someone else, throwing your support behind the person most likely to beat whistle-ass

It sounds like he's not doing either.

4. I suppose that's fine for now

He'll stop campaigning, the media will stop covering him and we'll have a 2-man race. Meanwhile, his most devoted supporters can still vote for him, giving them some breathing space to come to the realization that it's all over.

5. It's not about breathing space. It's about the hard hard
work of starting a new movement. About having a voice. I am anti establishment DNC/DLC. I want my opinion and voice to be heard at the executive level of the party. Voting for Dean in the primaries will help to establish the fact that there is a split in how the party has driven the agenda away from progressive values.
