Security experts skeptical on Gitmo detainee report
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Security experts are questioning information released by the Pentagon last week, saying 61 former detainees from its detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may have returned to terrorist activities.
President Obama has signed an executive order to close the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detention facility.

The report, released days before President Obama took office, says 18 former detainees are confirmed to have participated in attacks, and 43 are suspected to have been involved in attacks.

That figure would be about 11 percent of the roughly 520 prisoners that have been released from Guantanamo, which Obama on Thursday ordered be shut down.

On Friday, a Pentagon spokesman defended the integrity of the report, but would not directly answer questions about where the figures come from.

2. Even if true, it's the wrong question
The question should not be how many former detainees have re-joined Al-Qaeda.

The question should be how many former detainees were not Al-Qaeda members before we fucked with them, but are now our sworn enemies?

3. It was just another lie from a "loyal bushie"
There are still plenty of them around and will be for a long time. Of course, on NPR this morning, the reliably right-wing Scott Simon was, as usual, talking about this with another reliably right-wing mouthpiece Juan Williams. They accepted this "report" without question or suspicion.

4. Only 11%? That's better than the ratio of 19 terrorists that reported in as being alive
in various countries in the ME - six? of the 19 claim they are NOT dead. But there are NO investigations.

We got eight years of lying from the Pentagon.
Now what are they going to give us?
Cover up lies?

Crime is exhausting.

5. No proof
This claim is made with no mention of any names or deeds of these "61".

6. The security experts should be extremely skeptical.
This bullshit will turn out to be total absolute bullshit.

But the rightwingnuts will endlessly spew it for years, even after it's totally absolutely debunked for total utter bullshit.

7. What's the researcher's name....
...who's been tracking the numbers they say of released detainees that have gone on to terrorism? Each time he notes the numbers are wildly different, and no explanation is given as to where or how they were attained. Wasn't he on Rachel's show....with an hysterical graph of the numbers stated that looked like the Alps? Up...down...up...up...down...up a little....way down....up....down....
