Secrets will be revealed if Guantanamo closes: Mamdouh Habib
Source: The Australian

FORMER Guantanamo detainee Mamdouh Habib says too many secrets will be revealed if the US closes the prison for terror suspects, where he says women and children have been held.

US President Barack Obama has ordered the closure of the Guantanamo prison within a year and banned the use of torture in terror interrogations.

(snip)

"There is a lot of secret business in Guantanamo Bay," he said.

"They're going to find a lot of women and young kids.

1. K&R
"I won't believe him until they send some media and some of the public and some of the human rights (people) ... to find out if Guantanamo Bay is really closed or not."

Who can blame him for not trusting? All Americans need to hear about Bush's secrets, too many have no clue. One of the Republicans spoke out the other day when asked about Obama closing Guantanamo, she said, "they have been called the worst of the worst", it is this propaganda that needs to end.

5. Yes, the prisoners were so mistrustful of the U.S. that when some
human rights lawyers came to interview them, they thought it was a setup.

3. It is getting harder and harder....
...for the Democrats to turn a blind eye.

But they will find a way to sweep this under the rug in a spirit of "post-partisanship".

4. Traitor Pelosi covered for them and this shit for years.
What she knew and her role in "taking impeachment off the table" should be investigated as well. War crimes are non-partisan.

6. Yeah Pelosi sucks, and Reid is worse. As leaders (and reps) they are the pits.
I'm glad Obama won and all. Really. I've been a supporter since his senatorial run even before Alan Keyes got in the mix. I think Obama is the right man for the job today, and the bright future of the party.

But to realize that brightness, we need to replace our dim bulbs. Reid and Pelosi.

11. Australian detainee doubts Guantanamo to close
By Michael Perry

SYDNEY (Reuters) - A former Guantanamo Bay detainee, Australian Mamdouh Habib, believes the prison will never be completely closed despite U.S. President Barak Obama's decree to shut down the centre within a year.

Habib, who spent three years in Guantanamo Bay until his release without charge in January 2005, said he welcomed Obama's decree but believed there were too many secrets inside the prison for the United States to ever completely shut it down.

"If it is true I will be more than happy if they close Guantanamo Bay. I believe Guantanamo Bay will never be closed down," Habib told Reuters television in an interview on Friday.

"They can't release everything in Guantanamo Bay, everything in Guantanamo Bay is a secret," he said ...
