No Bush Moving Trucks Needed Inauguration Day (almost everything moved out ahead of schedule)
Source: CNN

On Inauguration day, there's one scene at the White House that won't be playing out exactly as it has during past transitions: the traditional moving of the outgoing First Family's belongings. Anita McBride, Chief of Staff to First Lady Laura Bush, tells CNN that the Bushes have moved almost all their things out of the White House ahead of schedule.

"There won't be … the moving trucks for the Bushes coming here," McBride said, adding, "the only things really left for President and Mrs. Bush are their personal belongings and luggage that they'll take that day."...

The actual clearing out of the Bushes' belongings began over the summer, McBride says, when many items were packed and brought to Crawford, Texas. Then, during the Christmas holiday, the Bushes moved their personal things out of Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland, according to McBride.

That means on Inauguration day, while President and Mrs. Bush, along with President-elect Obama and his family, are at the Capitol, staff in the White House residence will have more time to unpack and prepare the Obamas' personal belongings. "They have rehearsed this over the last few weeks, everyone has their marching orders, it will be all hands on deck," said McBride.

"The residence staff will be here that morning, and they know what their jobs are when the moving truck for the Obamas' move-in, and their things will be unpacked, and their clothes will be in their rightful place, and whatever furniture that they may have selected from the White House furniture collection will be in the place that they want it to be."

1. They started moving stuff out
"over the summer"??????????

How weird is that? Six months before moving, they started sending stuff out?

I suppose that's indicative of the depth of their commitment to their roles at "President" and "First Lady."

Please, god, make them GO AWAY FOREVER and MAKE IT HAPPEN SOON!!!!!!!!!

I can't hold on much longer........................

27. list
Here's what would have to be done before I would move in after a bush had been there:

1) every surface scrubbed and sterilized. Example: door scrubbed with stronger than average soap and water, doorknobs scrubbed and sterilized

2) if duct heating, the ducts cleaned and sanitized.

3) all pools drained, scrubbed, and filled with fresh water

4) every window in the house open. Fresh air for 24 hours.

5) all upholstered furniture gone and replaced with new. No mattresses a bush might have ever touched.

6) all carpets ripped out, new put in

6a) all toilets removed and replaced

7) priests, ministers, rabbis, shamans, all come in to rid the place of the evil spirits. I would personally sage the place.

8) same goes for the cars and Air Force One

9) all new china and silverware. I would not touch any piece of silverware a bush had touched, even if it had been through the dishwasher

10) any official pictures or photographs of bush would be turned to the wall in my presence. If it was open to the public or republicans, then the pictures would temporarily be turned back around

11) the word "bush" would be banned from the house. Anybody who makes a mistake and utters this word would have to put $50 in a fund for the year-end Christmas party

3. I can see this....
How much time does it take to move a couple of cases of Johnny Walker Blue and a couple of cartons of Marlboro Lights? That would be Pickles.

And one copy of "My Pet Goat"?

The Monkey had NOTHING when he arrived, and he will leave with nothing but what he stole.
And all that shit is in some off shore account.

Fuck You Monkey.

19. As Bush was being sworn in the first time in 2001,
in Austin large moving trucks loaded up every bit of documentation from Bush's term as governor and hustled it across the state to be secreted in the basement of his daddy's library -- a federally protected sanctuary -- in College Station. This was against the law, which required all the governor's documents to be handed over to the state archives, but since when has a Bush let a little thing like the law get in their way?

Expect the same sort of shenanigans this time. Cheney has already claimed that since the Vice Presidency isn't part of either the Executive or Legislative branches, he's not subject to federal laws requiring transferring all records to the federal archive. Fortunately, CREW caught him at it and got a judge to issue an order forcing Cheney to do what the law requires him to. Now Cheney is saying he only has to turn over papers relating to his office and not "personal papers" and that only he has the power to decide which documents fall into which category. These guys just never stop being evil, do they?
