3. That's not a very good picture, imo.

The lighting is bad, and the crop is worse. (Or maybe vice versa.) He looks stiff and unnatural. I hope he gets another "official" portrait soon. This picture does not do him justice - in looks or spirit.

5. Nope. That's it.
Think of Bush's grinning Alfred E. Newman official shot. Used for eight years.

Talk about embarrassing.

6. Good point about his picture in racist public libraries......
And I didn't think about the naming of schools either. Wonder what kind of firestorm that will start?

I hope the phototgrapher took more than one shot? He should have done 4 or 5...at one where he is smiling. And yes, lighting sux.

I've been a photographer. I would have gone with either a waist up--hands in front, or a full shot--hands in front relaxed and definately a smile.

Oh, and I remembered one thing. Stamps. Do the white-wing fools have to buy stamps for mailing? Someday his pic will be on stamps.

14. I don't think they ever do the official portrait as a waist up or full shot. n/t

8. The angle is weird, too. His chin looks closer to the camera than his forehead.
because the camera is angled. It looks unnatural.

12. My thoughts exactly.
For an official portrait, you'd think they would pay a little more attention to the lighting.

16. Spontaneous applause in the reception areas of SSA/IRS offices!1
Tuesday's not a holiday, is it? And the changeover can't take place until Noon ET, correct? So that means the pics will be changed while there are people in the waiting rooms?

I almost want to trek over to the local SSA office and see it when it happens. I'll wager there is spontaneous applause!1

18. The federal employees I know can't wait to take down Bush's and put up Obama's
Friends of mine at SS office say that the Bush and Cheney pics are the largest ones ever put up in SS offices (and pic of VP was never required before Cheney) and they will make sure these get taken down ASAP on Tuesday even if they haven't received the Obama and Biden portraits by then.

19. I'm sure they can't wait......
seeing as how those two bastards wanted to do away with Social Security. Good thing they were thwarted on that possible disaster.
