Australia to crack down on child sex tourists

Australia will station a police officer on the Indonesian island of Bali from this month to help crack down on a growing number of tourists heading there to have sex with minors, officials said yesterday.

The move comes amid reports that paedophiles were also adopting or fostering poverty-stricken children from Bali which is struggling to rebuild its economy and tourism after nightclub bombings in October 2002 killed over 200 people, mainly foreigners.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty said an officer - appointed with Jakarta's permission - would target child abuse by wealthy foreigners, many of whom are Australian.

Now's the time for white western people to help Muslims in Indonesia to get rid of terrorists! Such shame! I don't think it would be difficult for an Al Qaeda to convince Indonesians to come to their side and not that of the good western world.

Poor children especially are vulnerable and if Australian police decide to offer their help to stop what appears to be primarily Australian pedophile sex tourists then, I say, more power to them.
