It looks like Harry may get his way after all. If Fitz's charges don't stick, there's going to be hell to pay.

10. All I can say is...
All I can say is: It's about time!!!

Thinking of all the corruption charges he's up against (http://tv1.com/playlists/109) he should have been impeached a while ago...BEFORE he was able to appoint someone to the Senate seat.

13. We need Tee shirts that say, IMPEACHMENT It's not just for Democrats.
Ms pelosi has very effectively deprived us of equal protection of law in opposing Bush's impeachment. For god sakes Bush didn't try to sell a Senate seat. He sold a freakin war! He also defaulted on the principle for that war AKA the WMD's. Pelosi had a legal duty to foreclose on the White House.

Illinois House impeaches Gov. Rod Blagojevich; sets stage for state Senate trial

By CHRISTOPHER WILLS , Associated Press

Last update: January 9, 2009 - 10:50 AM

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Illinois House voted overwhelmingly Friday to impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich, an unprecedented action that sets up a Senate trial on whether he should be thrown out for allegedly trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat.

Impeachment required just 60 votes. The final result was 114-1.

Legislators accused the second-term Democratic governor of letting down the people of Illinois by letting ego and ambition drive his decisions.

"It's our duty to clean up the mess and stop the freak show that's become Illinois government," said Rep. Jack D. Franks, a Democrat.

Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 on federal charges that include allegations he schemed to profit from his power to name Obama's replacement in the Senate. The criminal complaint included an FBI agent's sworn affidavit describing wiretaps that caught Blagojevich allegedly talking about what he could get for the seat, how to pressure people into making campaign contributions and more.

That arrest triggered impeachment hearings by a special House committee.

17. There doesn't have to be anything "real" for impeachment
It's not a criminal proceeding. I think the scandal taint and Blogo's arrogance will be enough for the Senate to remove him from office, if they so choose.

Sorry, but I think it's idiotic that the Il. legislature went ahead with this. I've voted Blue all my life, and cannot comprehend how it is that Dems can be so colossally inept as to roll for every Stupid Republican Trick in the book and not back up their own in this age of witch-hunts.
